Through what mechanism can hypothyroidism and depression go hand in hand?

Symptom overlap: Sometimes people with hypothyroidism can feel so lackluster, fatigued, and slowed down that they appear depressed. Cognitive function itself may be slowed, similar to some depressions. That's why checking for thyroid problems is part of a workup for depression. Is sujok accupuncture where needles are used only on hands & feet & not on any other body part, effective in treating hypothyroidism & infertility.

Not effective: Acupuncture is not in any way effective for treating hypothyroidism. If you do not have enough thyroid hormone, then a supplemental thyroid hormone replacement is the only effective treatment. Acupuncture has been used to treat infertility, but the reports are not convincing - many women get pregnant during infertility evaluations even without any treatment. See a reproductive endocrinologist! ...Read more

My mom 63yo complaining with burning hands & fingers. What are some of causes for that? She has hypothyroidism @ neck pain are only things.

Multiple causes, but: Both things you mentioned can certainly be related. While rare, hypothyroidism can be related to a polyneuropathy such as this. Neck pain related to cervical spinal stenosis can also cause this sort of pain, as well the possibility of multiple root irritation in the cervical spine. It also could be related to vitamin deficiency, bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome or diabetic neuropathy. ...Read more

I have a lot of trouble sleeping & wake up constantly due to my arms/hands becoming numb every night, could this be related to my hypothyroidism?

Yes.: First if hypothyroidsim was detected, then you are on meds and no longer hypothyoid. An ANA is found in 5% of the population, and is usually false positive.
