Why does your foot hurt when going upstairs if you have ligament torn? What treatment would you recommend? I have have my foot wrapped by podaristist

Which ligament?: Likely, if there is pain, it is because the ligament in question is being stressed when going up the stairs. Ideally, you want it to be under "zero tension". Cam walker boots are usually excellent at achieving this goal. Wrappings, bracing etc are also all viable alternatives. If your still feeling pain though you may need a better form of immobilization. ...Read more

I just got a steroid injection for a torn ligament. Today I can't put all of my weight on my foot and I get severe pain in the front and my heel.

What ligament: Was torn? How do you know it was torn? Injections have some good and some bad associated with them, without getting into that immobilization or a period of non weight bearing MIT be smart if a ligament is torn, continued walking will not give it a chance to heal even if it was injected. Ankle Sprain: Well you have suffered one of the most common foot and ankle injuries. Certainly you may have some tendon/ligament injury. 6 days post ankle sprain, my foot ankle and bottom of leg go numb. Especially if I stand on it for a whilst. No fracture or torn ligaments only sprain?

Ankle Sprain: An ankle sprain is really a misnomer in that there are typically ligaments torn (partially or fully) around the ankle. The tearing from those ligaments may cause swelling (mild to severe) and the swelling may impinge on the surrounding skin nerves. This may be causing the numbness, especially when standing because fluid naturally builds up lower with gravity. Hope this helps, good luck! ...Read more
