Exercise: You can either exercise the finger by using a nerve ball or a small soft ball in your hand by squeezing on it and later actively with the other hand move every joint in that finger

Unsure of injurty: I am not sure what a capsule is but if you have any swelling around a joint for that long that does not get better it needs to be seen by a doctor as it might be a broken bone- especially if it happened after an injury ...Read more

Did you had, a tetanus vaccination? Is up to the bone medial or lateral? Did you take antibiotics.
Is the area red, ans swollen?

Did: Did you get an mri? I think an MRI would be helpful to see if there is any sort of mechanical block to your extension such as a loose body (a piece of cartilage that is stuck in the joint).
