If you had symptoms of a STI or STD and it was confirmed that you had it . And it was cured Can you get the symptoms again ? If you thought you had it

Sure: Did partner get treated also? If not, then will likely get with each next sex. Both need treated and checked for resolution. Also, these are bacterial infections, and they do not produce an immunity to future (re-) infection, like chicken pox would. Not an STD: In direct reply: no. It is not possible to have symptoms of any infection, STD or otherwise, an hour after catching it. The minimum is 2-3 days. In addition, no STD causes symptoms like this. This is some sort of physical or chemical irritation, or perhaps has a psychological origin. See a doctor if it continues, but no worries about STD. Good luck. ...Read more

SEVERE UTI-like symptoms for 2 yrs. Gyno: UTIs, STDs, STIs, & infections test neg. A lot of blood in urine. Urologist said everything is normal. How?!

Seek a second input: Hematuria is not normal. Your symptoms suggest the probability of a stone and or passing a stone. Would suggest getting an imaging if not done. Further more a full urine test would help. A bladder stone can cause UTI like symptoms. In rare cases interstitial cystitis can present like this but rare. Getting a kidney doctor to work up is the next best step. Best of luck hope you feel better. ...Read more

If you had any type of STD and symptoms then got tested 2 years after if you really had the diseasewill it still be positive?

If you had any type of STD and symptoms then got tested 2 years after if you really had the diseasewill it still be positive?

It depends: An std acquired and treated 2 years ago may cause a positive test result. Tests for syphilis usually remain positive after treatment. Antibody tests for herpes will also remain positive. If a test for chlamydia or gonorrhea is positive it is likely that either the std was not completely treated originally or re-infection occurred. Either way, treatment is needed. ...Read more
