Since the cause of sternal and chest pain can be challenging to even the most experienced of doctors, your symptoms should be evaluated immediately. Even though you are having vomiting and pain leading one to believe it is stomach related, a medical professional must ensure that this is not heart related such as a heart attack or blood clot.
If it is determined that the pain is not cardiovascuar related, further evaluation for gastritis, esophagitis, esophageal spasms, gall bladder disease, pancreatitis, and pneumonia would typically be the next step.
