My echocardiogram shows diastolic dysfunction . The cardiologist i saw today said no worries comes with age. I'm 60. My EKG showed silent mi?

Not clear: Diastolic dysfunction is a stiffening of the heart that one experiences with aging, especially if one had high blood pressure or diabetes or being overweight. There is no specific treatment other than exercise and control the above risk factors. If the ECG showed a silent infarct, one has to take into account the infarct location and your symptoms. You may need a stress test if you have symptoms. ...Read more

1st mammogram 2d saw gray shadows, 3d same shadows, ultrasound saw nothing. no family history. Now MRI, worried.

All x-rays: essentially show "shadows", normal and abnormal, so unfortunately the description is not specific enough to render an opinion. What did the report say? If there was a suspicious abnormality on mammography, biopsy rather than MRI would be recommended, so the fact that you are getting an MRI leads me to believe that the mammo finding was likely equivocal. ...Read more

Cardiologist said Aneurysm External and Internal Carotid very rare in Neck and rare inside Sternal Head andJugular Notch No Ultrasound Needed ?True?

Carotid thoughts: I assume there are no symptoms. Aneurysms are rare but do occur. See: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0741521400498800 Why not instead worry about garden variety plaque/stenosis in a 49 yo and try for a screening carotid U/S? No harm in a screening U/S, but may not be so available in the UK. Would advise if a signif. history of smoking or family history of vascular disease. ...Read more

Capacitor: discharge triggered by traction /compression of nerve. Tilting the head relieves the force that triggers the discharge. The problem can be in the neck, skull base or subcutaneous scalp. Not likely a brain issue (no nerve endings) If you can live with it and its not getting worse, then be patient. It may resolve on its own as the regenerating nerve matures. ...Read more
