Std Unprotected Sex
Depends: This depends on which sti you are talking about. Gonorrhea and chlamydia come on quickly as does herpes. But not all herpes infections cause noticeable symptoms. Hiv, hpv, syphilis and hepatitis often have no symptoms until later stages and take longer to detect in the blood stream. Best to consult with a doctor with experience in stis for proper testing. ...Read more

None: Unfortunately, there is no medication that can totally prevent the acquisition of std's. Forethought regarding the type of partner you are sharing 'bodily fluids' with is tantamount in addition to contraceptives. ...Read more
Have red swollen vagina lips inside. Sore throat. Havent started my period. Can it be an std. Had unprotected sex with one partner since months ago. ?
STD rate: If your partner has an STD, some of which are not so obvious in men, unprotected sex can of course cause the infection to be transmitted to you. Condoms can protect against some STD's, but not all, and leakage can occur, which stops the protected effect. Check with your gyn provider if you have pain or discharge, or other unusual symptoms. ...Read more

How many discharges happen with an STD? I had unprotected sex 2 days ago.. saw a white discharge once and pain in the area and now I'm freaking out.
STD is possible: STDs are by far the most common causes of abnormal urethral discharge and painful urination, especially gonorrhea, chlamydia, or nongonococcal urethritis (NGU). However, once discharge starts it usually continues; a single episode without recurrence is unusual. Two days after exposure is pretty quick and suggests gonorrhea. Even if it now seems to be gone, ee a doctor or your local STD clinic. ...Read more
I'm taking amoxicillin for a std and had unprotected sex( don't know their status) last night. I still have 4 more pills to take though. Could I have ?
Can I get std from having unprotected sex even if my partner and I are both virgins? Also I keep getting jock itches. Is there a prevention for it?
Tinea? Yeast? Other?: It is not possible to have an STD unless one person or the other has had sex with someone else. "Jock itch" is not a term normally used in women, only men. Have you been diagnosed with tinea (same fungus group as jock itch in men)? Yeast (entirelydifferent)? Neither yeast nor tinea is sexually transmitted. Don't assume any diagnosis based only on symptoms; get professional care. ...Read more
Waiting for STD results. Had unprotected sex weeks ago. No discharge, odor, or sores. As I pee very painful tip of penis. Likely kidney stones? ATI?
A few possibilities: "Weeks ago" is too long a delay in symtoms for most STDs. Probably you mean UTI, not ATI . Non-STD urinary tract infections are rare at your age, although possible especially if you had anal sex. Gonorrhea is possible, but usually has prominent pus discharge. Maybe herpes, but usually only with obviously visible blisters/sores. Stone passage may be possible. Hang in there, work with doctor. ...Read more

Condoms: The only way to minimize risk is to be in a truly monogamous relationship with a trusted partner who has been previously tested. If you have both been cleared then there is no risk (assuming no cheating). Condoms are effective in preventing stds passed via fluid transmission like gonorrhea, chlamydia & hiv. Condoms are less effective in skin to skin transmitted stds like hpv, herpes and syphilis. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
