Std (Definition)

This is a disease which can be transmitted from one person to another person through sexually related activities. This does not limit these activities to heterosexual intercourse, but encompasses all modalities of human-to-human sexual activity. It does not include illnesses that may make an individual more susceptible to a condition because of a sexual ...Read more

Painful left testicle 8 months. Std, uti tests negative tried doxy, levaquin, cipro with no success. Pain shooting up abs and leg. US clear? Help?

No STD, not serious: This could be a prostate problem, with referred pain to the testicle. Or no disease at all; not all pain indicates a health problem. With no clear diagnosis after all this work-up, perhaps nothing more can be done. But it seems clear there is no serious problem and for sure no STD or other infection. You may have to just live with it. Discuss with your urologist. Good luck. ...Read more

With all std tests clear and 2wks doxycycline my testicles part left still painful with back pain. Tip of penis also in pain. Is it epidymititis?

With all std tests clear and 2wks doxycycline my testicles part left still painful with back pain. Tip of penis also in pain. Is it epidymititis?

Not epididymitis: Infectioius epididymitis almost always involves only one testicle, with marked swelling and tenderness. And the only STDs that cause it are gonorrhea and chlamydia, so your negative tests rule it out. Pain in both testicles without swelling, and/or pain referred to tip of penis usually means chronic pelvic pain syndrome, similar to non-bacterial prostatitis. Wikipedia has v/ good article on CPPS. ...Read more

Recheck with doctor: You'll need to ask the doctor or clinic treating you. You're close to the age (35) after which most epididymitis is not an STD. However, most of those have positive UTI tests. I have to wonder if you had something other than epididymitis (prostate problem?), and lack of clear response to doxycycline suggests something other than bacterial infection. Good luck! ...Read more

R testicle and low ab pain wk after unpro sex. Doc say epididymitis and gave 10day levaquin. No better had std/UTI tests 6wk later & clear? Is it STD

Prostate? CPPS?: These are atypically mild symptoms for sexually acquired epididymitis. The only STD causes of epididymitis (gonorrhea and chlamydia) should have responded rapidly to levofloxacin and should have had positive tests. My guess is no STD and probably no epididymitis. Maybe prostatitis or chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS)? Happily, these usually are harmless. Keep working with your doctor. Good luck! ...Read more

Std tests twice clear along with uti clear but L testicle L back and abdoman still in pain. Not responding to antibiotics. Is it epididymitis? Worried

Need more info...: Testicular pain is not always from UTI- or STD-related epididymitis, & one has to consider if there is disorders in regional muscles, joints, or nerves, or from its intermittent twisting (torsion). To sort these out correctly chiefly relies on analyzing detailed specifics, relevance, & sequence of events of the pain + exam + testing. How? To article in http://formefirst. Com/onDealSickness. Lower back pain in different spots. Slight burning when urinating/ejaculating. Testicle ache. Std test clear. 21, active. Worried about prostate cancer?

Not likely: Based upon your information it seems as though the low back pain and pain running down your leg may be related to the same orthopedic process for which your doctor might order an MRI. Sounds like you have prostatitis which is associated with the burning on ejaculation and urination. Check with your family doctor about this. Which might require antibiotics ...Read more

My left side of the testicle is getting reddish. Is that the symptom of a std?

Here are some. ..: Hi! ZackM671, It's nice to answer another question from you. Just being reddish alone would be very unlikely to be serious like STD. Of course, without a direct look, it's hard to come up an accurate impression. But, it's useful to collect the info on if the reddish area is sore, thickened, firm, etc. Over time, and bring those to Doc for anlaysis, physicals, and tests as needed so to deduce Dx... ...Read more

I've had a wart on the lower part of my testicles since I was little do I have a std?

Probably Not HPV: There are many different types of warts and only a few are sexually transmitted. If it is a wart, present prior to having sexual contact, it is unlikely to be an std. There are many different growths that occur in the genital area and this may not even be a wart. See you doctor. ...Read more

Having cloudy discharge and ache in left testicle while urination what could this be? Is this an std? Why is the pain only when urination

STD, Epididymitis?: Urethral discharge is almost always an STD -- gonorrhea, chlamydia, or nongonococcal urethritis (NGU). Testicular pain may be epididymitis, the main complication of gonorrhea or chlamydia in males, but pain usually continuous and with testicular enlargement and marked tenderness. If you're the same person who asked about urethral testing, discuss all this with the doctor/clinic you are seeing. ...Read more

Testis is sterile...: Testes should be sterile. STDs esp. gonorrhea and chlamydia, start out their infection to the urethra with gradual extension to vas deferens to globus minor of epididymis... If not treated timely, they may eventually involve testis - called epididymo-orchitis. So, for specific detail, ask doctor, or contact www. HealthTap. Com/dr-Lin with RQPWJC as keycode. ...Read more

Cloudy discharge pain in left testicle when urinating urine tests neg for stds & infection. What could this be?

Urethritis: It's still an STD. All urethral discharge in men your age is due to STD. Negative STD lab tests means only that you don't have gonorrhea or chlamydia -- you have nongonococcal urethritis (NGU). You and your sex partner (s) need to be treated with doxycycline or azithromycin. See an STD expert or infectious diseases specialist, if your current doctor seems uncertain about all this. My boyfriend found a lump on his testicles that hurts him. He walks funny and is in pain. What could it be? It is not an std. Could it be cancer?

Could be torsion: He needs to be evaluated very soon. He could have an intermittent torsion (twist) of his testicle. If it becomes completely torsed, he could lose the testicle. He could also just have epididymitis, which is easily treated with antibiotics. Regardless, get him seen soon. Cancer is not likely. Good luck. ...Read more
