Sounds like hives: This sounds more like an allergic reaction to a food or other trigger. A visit to your doc can determine which is most likely. ...Read more

How long a course of antibiotics does it take to heal staph folliculitis? Widespread across pubis and crease of thighs, is itchy and a bit tender.
About 2 weeks: For most infections, antibiotics will clear it in about 2 weeks. However, if you are "colonized" with the staph bacteria, it is possible to keep re-infecting yourself in the same area. Ask your doctor about a culture taken from your nose (hey, it's where the staph lives!). You may need an antibiotic ointment to put inside your nose. ...Read more
How long a course of antibiotics does it take to heal staph folliculitis? Widespread across pubis and crease of thighs. Is itchy and slightly tender.
Depends: Your doctor will prescribe the antibiotic you need and the amount of days you need to take it. Different antibiotics can be taken once or twice daily from a few short days to occasionally a couple of weeks. If you have had a culture to identify it as staph, it will also tell you the sensitivity. If it is methicillin resistant, you will get a different antibiotic than if it is not. ...Read more
Throat swollen, huge nodes and pustules all over. Was very itchy before I broke out. ? Staph. I am a carrier and have grown out some strange cultures.
Get a throat culture: There are lots of bacterial infections in the throat nowadays, not just strep, so I would recommend a throat culture and rapid strep test to get a positive ID on what is causing your infection. The doctor can also order a "sensitivity" with the culture to show what antibiotics the bacteria is sensitive to and which ones it is resistant to so that you get the proper antibiotic. ...Read more
Apparently I have a staph infection, my vagina is itchy and red spots which turn into whiteheads keep popping up in diff places. What does this mean?
?Folliculitis: This sounds like folliculitis (inflammation of the hair follicle). Staph can cause it. But there are other things that can cause a folliculitis. You should have the contents of one of these "whiteheads" cultured to be sure it is staph before you accept an antibiotic. And if you shave your bikini area it could be you are spreading the problem. So, stop shaving for now, get treatment and new razors. ...Read more

My 10 month old has what was said to be a yeast infection, but it is primarily on the labia and severly itchy and not better after 2 weeks of medicated butt paste for yeast infections could this be staph or eczema?
Rash: Diaper rash is very common and medicated powder might not be strong enough to tackle it. A prescription medication (nystatin cream/ointment) may be used instead with better relief. If there is a lot of inflammation, steroid preparations for the first 1-3 days may need to be used to reduce it, but no more than that. Staph is less likely and would present with honey colored rash. ...Read more
I was recently hospitalized with staph infection in my bloodstream. I have a rash on my face. Some redness and peeling on testicles and am very itchy.
My daughter has red itchy bumps on her arms and feet. What could be the cause? She was diagnosed with a staph infection but the bumps persist. Bed bugs were mentioned but she is the only person being bitten. Could this be an allergic reaction to something
This : This is tough to answer without a picture. There are several possibilities including bites (fleas or other), eczema or allergic contact dermatitis, lichen planus, folliculitis (staph infection), and others. I doubt bed bugs given the location. I would recommend you try a moisturizer such as cerave cream twice daily and if not better after a few days consider a trip to the dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment options. Bites are common in kids so that is certainly a possibility. If they are bites, avoidance plus a steroid gel might be beneficial. I hope that helps. ...Read more
