Standing Up After Hysterectomy Best Method
I'm going to have a hysterectomy and would like to know more about having this done using robotic surgery method.
Revolutionary option: Robotic hysterectomy using the da vinci surgical system allows the surgeon to perform complex surgery using minimally invasive techniques. We can do hysterectomies this way without making a large incision. The benefits to the patient are less pain, less blood loss and a faster recovery. Hi, in June I underwent partial hysterectomy by assisted robotic method. From last week I am having pelvic pain . Is it a symptom of scar tissue?
Not necessarily scar: Pelvic pain can have many causes. You should document the onset, character (sharp, dull, crampy, etc), and how often you're having the pain as well as if you are having any other symptoms (such as issues with urination or bowel movements). In addition, see if the pain gets better with ibuprofen or Tylenol. Most importantly, you should call the doctor to set up an appointment to be evaluated. ...Read more
I am scheduled for an abdominal hysterectomy November 26th for congested pelvic syndrome. should Iget another opinion for a less invasive method?
I would say: yes. But I am biased because I am an advanced minimally invasive surgeon. Having 3 pencil eraser size incisions vs a larger skin incision allows for less pain and a quicker recovery and shorter hospital stay. If you are asking the question, then I think you already know the answer. Good Luck. ...Read more

Is a hysterectomy after menopause the best answer for hormone therapy if you have uterine fibroids?
It depends: Most fibroids shrink in menopause, even if you are treated with low-dose hormone therapy. If, however, fibroids grow during menopause, that is a red flag for possible trouble. Hysterectomy will be your best bet to rule out the possibility of a cancerous growth, and to prevent further fibroid growth. Furthermore, you can then use estrogen alone which may be safer than estrogen plus progesterone. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Menopause after hysterectomy weight gain tired knee and ankle.Foot pain no estrogen pill what supplementes work best?
Why no estrogen?: Have you considered estrogen replacement therapy? Do you have any medical conditions like blood clotting disorders or breast cancer that prevent this? Supplements are hit and miss. No good data to say that any are terrific. Black cohash is one of the more well studied but even this does not do much better than placebo (fake medicine). Careful as not all supps are same. I had a hysterectomy at 26 after her 2 positive breast cancer recurrence during pregnancy. I am overweight and need tips to best lose weight please! ?
Walk and weights: The way to lose weight is to "burn" more calories than you eat. 1st- muscle uses more calories at rest than fat, so increasing muscle in the body increases the calories burned all day, every day. Train with situps, pushups, wall sits, and using elastic bands (huge stretchy bands). 2nd - walk! build up to 2-3 miles a day. 3rd-keep track of calories and workouts. Try "my fitness pal" (free app). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Depends: That depends of the reason for the procedure. It depends of a patients surgical history and the size of the uterus. Underlying medical problems may also influence surgery type. I perform most cases robotically and some by open incision. But a good surgical plan requires a proper evaluation. ...Read more
