Llkely 20% 5yr life.: The throat cancer may have a decent outlook, but an advanced stomach cancer where the disease has likely spread to the lymph nodes and is one step away from distant metastases has about a 20% 5 year survival at best. This is if the tumor is able to be resected. It is his choice, but it might be good for him to see his doctor to at least find out what can be done to make him comfortable. ...Read more

My friends uncle had throat cancer (tumor) spread to lungs and blood according to doctors and say survival is impossible, what options does he have?

End of Life: Cancer that has spread to multiple organs with distant metastasis is regrettably, an extremely poor prognosis. The best option is to ask your doctor to enlist the services of hospice. The inter disciplinary team will not only attend to his physical needs for comfort through a doctor and nurse, but also address his nutrition and spiritual needs as well. My prayers are with you for peace. ...Read more
