Opinions on your 1st three choices for OCD when bipolar and anxiety/stress are heavily present?

Opinions on your 1st three choices for OCD when bipolar and anxiety/stress are heavily present?

Low-dose Abilify (aripiprazole): In my experience, a low dose of Abilify (aripiprazole) (2mg each morning, not to exceed 5 mg) is frequently the most effective and rapidly acting treatment for ocd with anxiety; but, of course, it might not be best for you. Recommend discussing with your provider. Luvox, anafranil, or a combination of the two can also be helpful, but usually not as helpful as low-dose abilify (aripiprazole).

Are there any permanent effects from smoking weed three times in your life? Cognitive impairment and bipolar disorder?

Are there any permanent effects from smoking weed three times in your life? Cognitive impairment and bipolar disorder?

Very doubtful!: Only smoking 3 times in a lifetime, unless the marijuana was laced with some other hard drug, there is almost no chance that it will lead to permanent "cognitive impairment or bipolar disorder." if that were the case, we would have millions more people with these conditions than we currently do. Millions. Get my point?

Can the start of menopause cause or have an effect on, dissociation, bipolar or thyroid problems? I have been diagnosed with all three.

Can the start of menopause cause or have an effect on, dissociation, bipolar or thyroid problems? I have been diagnosed with all three.

YES!: Hormonal imbalances, particularly involving the thyroid and sex hormones, can derail mental health. The body is all about biochemical balance, and any diruption of this balance will cause mental/psychological and physical/physiologic symptoms. Your body creates these symptoms as "alarms" to warn you about these imbalances.

I'm 23 and have recently been diagnosed with bipolar rapid cycling. I don't remember being this bad 2 or 3 years ago does bipolar worsen with age?

I'm 23 and have recently been diagnosed with bipolar rapid cycling. I don't remember being this bad 2 or 3 years ago does bipolar worsen with age?

Untreated bipolar: Gets worse. As you get older it interferes with relationships, work school, you name it. So, I guess you could say it gets worse with age. I think it is more a matter of getting worse without good medication management and ongoing psychotherapy. Make sure you stay connected to your therapeutic team and keep the disease under the best control possible. Feel free to ask additional questions.

I'm under leponex 100mg 3 times a day since 2003i'm asking if I can reduce the dose to 2 times a dayi feel I need it. Btw I have bipolar disorder?

I'm under leponex 100mg 3 times a day since 2003i'm asking if I can reduce the dose to 2 times a dayi feel I need it. Btw I have bipolar disorder?

Important: Leponex (clozaril) is a very specific kind of medication. Your psychiatrist will presumably have chosen it for a reason, though it is not the "average" medication for bipolar. So reducing the dose really depends on why this s the right medication for you, and whether a lower dose will do as well. You should discuss this frankly with your psychiatrist.

How would you know if you'r bipolar?

How would you know if you'r bipolar?

See a psychiatrist: You should not try to diagnose your own psychiatric problems, please see a professional. The fact that you are worried is plenty of cause for you to seek medical attention. Good luck.

My husband is bipolar, but he doesn't believe it, can 3 months lithium make him stable?

My husband is bipolar, but he doesn't believe it, can 3 months lithium make him stable?

No one can: Answer that question. With BPD it takes time to adjust medication and get it right. In addition, it needs to be followed by a psychiatrist since the dosage may need to be changed intermittently. He must accept that he has a problem and stay on his medications, work with his doctor & a psychotherapist in order to control the illness.

My bipolar husband is unemployed since 3 yrs. We have a baby n I have lost hope that he will get better. He takes resperdol n lithium. How to handle?

Bipolar Disorder: I'm sorry to hear of your husband's difficulties, and how it affects you and your baby. Many people with bipolar disorder are able to work, go to school, and engage with their families. This depends on how well they're responding to treatment though. Please talk with your husband's psychiatrist if his depression/mania is still debilitating, or if he's not taking meds, etc. Recovery is possible!

I have bipolar disease, narcissism, and ocd. Anything that helps all 3?

Professional help.: It sounds like you have aspects of a personality disorder, and a psychiatric disorder, this is a complex problem, and must be treated by a psychiatrist, one that has an expertise in psychopharmacology, because the drugs used, the dosages, the combinations need to be monitored very carefully, along with talk or behavioral therapy (this could be done by a phd psychologist or experienced msw.

Bipolar is caused by what?

Parental expectation: In addition to the "genetic" component and imbalanced chemicals in the brain, some bipolar patients had parents who had unrealistic expectations of them and "broke their hearts" by appearing to love them more for what they could accomplish than for who they were. "conditional love" hurts and sometimes the price paid by the often talented child will be difficulty following through on "achieving.".

What causes bipolar disorder?

Multifactorial: So far no one has established a genetic link with bi-polar disorder, and many have tried. It is certainly true that it runs in families, but that can be a result of the family environment. There is a reasonable theory that the manic episodes are a way of combating the depressive feelings and that both are the result of chronic internal stress leading to depletion of neurotransmitters.
