For nearly a year I've had regular stabbing pain behind my eye which leads to a headache. I had my eyes checked and are fine. Is this a migraine?
Dryness: Usually, tranisent sharp (stabbing) pains are caused by extreme dryness. Certainly problems such as foreign bodies or corneal irregularities can be problems as well. I have been experiencing severe headaches and was given elavil to see if it wold help me. I have recently started having stabbing pain behind my left eye and it is getting increasingly worse. I also have a stabbing sensation in my cheek bone?
More symptoms?: The medicine elavil (amitriptyline) is helpful for preventing several types of headaches. You should not expect the medicine would cause stabbing pain behind your eye or in your cheek. Are these on the same side?
