I just recently started having a sharp stabbing pain in my left calf. The pain lasts for a few seconds and now there's a lump what could it be?

I just recently started having a sharp stabbing pain in my left calf. The pain lasts for a few seconds and now there's a lump what could it be?

Muscle pull: We're always concerned with blood clots when we see calf pain, but this does not sound like one since you dont mention redness, swelling or tenderness. My best guess given the supplied info is either a pulled or partially torn gastrocnemius (resulting in a palpable lump) or possibly a soft tissue mass giving you nerve pain. "lumps" should never b ignored. See your doctor and have it checked. ...Read more

Hi I get a deep stabbing pain in my right calf and my leg to lock up and I cannot move it on the 15-year-old male! What's happening it hurts Bad!!

Charlie horse: This sounds like the type of spontaneous muscle spasm commonly known as a "charlie horse". To break the spasm place your foot flat on the floor and extend the knee. Hold the position as you stretch the muscle. You may need to do this a few times if the spasm returns when you end the stretch. ...Read more

Hi I have Si joint pain or piriformis, sharp pain in back, stabbing pain in thigh and calf it doesn't travel. now stabbing pain in front ankle, related?

Sciatica?: In my experience, "SI joint" and "Piriformis" syndromes are commonly over-diagnosed by mistake. Instead, I do see a lot of cases of sciatica from degenerate discs and pinched nerves in the lumbar spine. From your description, I wonder if you might have a pinched L5 nerve in your lumbar spine. http://www.spine-health.com/conditions/spine-anatomy/all-about-l5-s1-lumbosacral-joint ...Read more

Doesn't sound seriou: if lasts for only seconds, it is not likley to be serious. it could be a muscle fiber twitching or going into a spasm. this could occur with muscle fatigue, or overstretching certain muscles. perhaps you are doing a particular exercise which is causing this. ...Read more

Pain in leg: There are possible ways that this could be connected but not very likely . For example it the spot were a serious cancer or if the site of the spot removal has gotten infected (which would look red and tender). If there is severe pain or, swelling or shortness of breath (which could come from a blot clot in the calf breaking off) you should see a doctor right away. ...Read more

Sciatica still can b: One can still have sciatica without DISK problems. Many other places within the anatomy of the vertebral bodies that nerve roots involved in causing sciatica can be compromised. Symptoms can radiate above the calf or below the calf...typically into the big toe but certainly not always.
