Urine is the product of the kidneys, which is produced to eliminate the waste products of metabolism, manage body fluid balance, &maintain acid-base balance. The blood is first filtered by the kidneys, and the composition of the resulting fluid is then altered depending on the body's needs. It is composed of mostly water, and breakdown products from blood cells impart ...Read more
I sometimes spray when peeing. I find this a problem as it happens a lot. Is there something to prevent this from happening? Started since I was 7.
Urethral stricture?: Occasional spraying could mean a transient plug of mucus in the urethra; residual semen after ejaculation; or pre-ejaculate fluid after sexual arousal. But for a problem nearly 10 years, you should be checked for urethral stricture, i.e. partial blockage. Over time, this could become a fairly serious problem, but easily treated now. Discuss with your doctor, who might refer you to a urologist. ...Read more

I sometimes spray when peeing. Is there something to prevent this? I do not think I have semen dried blockage. Happens usually after getting off bed.
Urethral stricture?: You can't get around my main advice a few days ago: see a doctor and follow his or her advice. It might not be anything serious, but since you've had this for a few years, you must not take the chance there is a partial obstruction (stricture) in your urethra, which could be dangerous if not diagnosed and, if necessary, treated. You'll never get a diagnosis on this or any other forum or website. ...Read more

Here are some...: Spraying flow denotes insufficient flow force to pass through the last segment of urethra of about 1-1.5 cm which is figuratively coined as fossa navicularis for its shape like a slit selection of garden hose nazzle, through which the flow spray at a lower pressure. Your observation in urine flow change at its ending suggests the functional relaxation and opening are slowly impairing. More? See... ...Read more
When the last part of my pee comes out it starts spraying everywhere, it happens almost every time it doesn't spray until I'm almost done why?
Here are some...: The very end part of urethra is called fossa navicularis, which is not round with uneven diameter (but in oval ellipsoid shape) like an adjustable nozzle of garden hose, from which the configurating and shaping of water flow widely vary depending on the water pressure. So, at the beginning, urine flow is straight; toward the ending, it slowly becomes spraying or splaying. More? Ask urologist... ...Read more
Here are some...: The typical voiding symptoms from urethral stricture is decreased urine flow, which would not be improved with medication. With decreasing urine flow, the shape of urine flow out of urethral opening will be spraying & splaying because of urine passing through the oval ellipsoid shaped fossa navicularis. Ask Urologist for more specific detail. It's hard to clearly define what is in 400-letter space ...Read more

I don't get it. My pee comes out normal but the bottom half of the stream sprays how is this possible? Is something wrong? I'm worried
Urethral obstruction: This symptom could indicate partial obstruction of your urethra. If new, at age 19 a genital wart in the urethra is among the most common causes. Scarring from a past infection or a congenital anomaly also are possible. See your doctor, who might referr you to a urologist. Don't be seriously worried; in the long run, it's probably not serious. But don't take chances; check it out. ...Read more

Here are some...: If urethral stricture causes a change in urine flow, which tends to be constant, and a variable strength of flow suggests the ability to relax and open the bladder neck and prostate urethra is not adequate. Splayed stream: Splaying, or deflection of the urinary stream is something many men experience at some point in their lifetime. A new or persistent deflection should be evaluated by a urologist to exclude urethral problems such as condylomata or stricture that may underly the problem. ...Read more
Why is my pee spraying? Never had this problem until after a cystoscopy, its sprays on my pants sometimes. This has been going on for months, fed up
Urethral blockage?: This is not normal. It suggests urethral stricture or other kind of partial blockage. Internal genital wart? Scarring from past gonorrhea? Bladder or kidney stone? Why did you have cystoscopy? Maybe that problem is back. Cystoscopy could have damaged the urethral lining, but that's pretty unlikely. Stop guessing and worrying and see a urologist, preferably the one who did the cystoscopy. ...Read more
How come when I pee sometimes the bottom half is wide and spraying but others times it's just straight and normal flow?? Not from masturbating either
Here are some...: The shape of urine stream out of urethral opening reflects individual difference in the anatomical configuration & variation of fossa navicularis (the very ending section of urethra - about 1-1.5 cm as well as the consistency and sustainability of flow force resulting from bladder contraction, which may widely vary among men or even within the same man to reflect bladder fullness at urge to void. ...Read more
A normal consequence: How much urine one can hold widely varies among individuals. Holding urine "too" long leads to a fuller bladder beyond its physiological accommodation, in time, resulting in a floppy bladder with temporary loss of its muscle contractability; hence, see slow urine flow & spraying stream reflecting a slow flow passing through the special configuration of fossa navicularis (the last 1-1.5 cm urethra. ...Read more

Here are some...: As previously answered, the sporadic configuration of spraying or splaying urine flow reflects the fluctuating force of flow and the special shape of fossa navicularis, i.e., the last 1-1.5 cm of male urethra. More? Ask urologist for definite confirmation usually with urine flow study, residual urine check, and cystourethroscopy as needed, and counseling timely. ...Read more

What are the odds of a cystoscopy causing a urethra stricture? My pee sprays to the right when done urimating and stream seems slow bottom half sprays
Ask the urologist!: If the first day or two, maybe a little physical irritation and the spraying will clear up quickly. Beyond that, probably not from the cystoscopy itself. Why was cystoscopy done? Urethral warts, stone, or stricture all could cause altered urine stream. Or a healing wound if such a problem was treated during cystoscopy.
