Sprained ankle yesterday. No swelling. Pain to walk.Am on walking vacation now and really want to participate. Can I bandage it and go walk with others?
Sprained ankle: If you are in pain, see a doctor. Don't continue to walk on an injury. In Europe, the Pharmacist is a doctor and they can direct you to a specialist if needed. You should be using crutches to off load the ankle. Use ice, elevate and wrap up your ankle with athletic tape. But use the crutches to off weight bear the ankle. Some elevated risk.: Recent studies have shown that even seemingly "minor" injuries can increase the possibility of developing DVT in the lower extremity. Other considerations are age, mobility and general health. It is important to be aware of the potential problem and watch for the symptoms of clot formation. I have track and Field tomorrow. I sprained my ankle yesterday afternoon. Will i be able to participate? I bought a brace and the pain is going down.

I was playing basketball and caused a minor sprain on my ankle yesterday and I have a baseball try-out tomorrow how do I heal it quick ?
RICE, RICE, baby: You can't speed up the biology of healing, but rest, ice regularly (20min every hour), gently place an ace wrap on your ankle, and keep your ankle elevated higher than your heart as much as possible. One day may not be enough time to recover but will give you best chance. When you do go back, use an ankle brace with laces and crisscrossing straps for added support. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
1 month in on recovery of sprained ankle. Did some exercises for ankle yesterday and swelling came back with slight pain. What does this mean?
Rest: 4 weeks may not be enough time for complete healing before starting therapy. 6-8 wks is typically the amount of time it takes to heal a sprain if immobilized. Even with complete healing, scar tissue develops and can contribute to swelling on and off for months during rehab. Check with your physician in person for proper rehabilitation! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Yes there is bleedin: The purple means that there’s been bleeding and tearing in the tissue. This is characteristic. You would told you will need ice, you will need to splint or even cast depending on the evaluation. I assume they said to ice it for the first 36 to 48 hours , elevate it and after that you can use heat ...Read more

See orthopedist: It sounds as though you had a significant sprain a month ago. Another possibility is there was a fracture that was very subtle and not seen on the x-ray you had. "RICE": Rest, ice, compression and elevation. But not for more than 48 hours. If your pain and swelling persists after that, you need to be seen by a doctor. A word of caution with the advil: if you have a fracture, continually taking anti-inflammatory medication will delay fracture healing. It's ok to take 1 or 2 every other day or so, but until you know you don't have a fracture, don't load up on them. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
