Get it looked at: Anytime somithing inside the knee causes irritation, the knee will swell. This is called an effusion. Effusions are not normal in a normal knee. Wouldn't: Worry about a DVT. A deep vein thrombosis is more likely after prolonged immobilization, or after a significant injury to the extremity. In your scenario, the joint pain is likely due to inflammation to recent overuse. A cartilage or minor ligament injury to the knee is also a possibility.
