Injury?: Ankle issues in patients your age most commonly develop from a traumatic or overuse injury. Was there an injury or are you exercising/in training? Wouldn't: Worry about a DVT. A deep vein thrombosis is more likely after prolonged immobilization, or after a significant injury to the extremity. In your scenario, the joint pain is likely due to inflammation to recent overuse. A cartilage or minor ligament injury to the knee is also a possibility. The RICE pneumonic (Rest Ice Compression Elevation) is good for a sore/ inflamed joint. No DVT ...Read more
