I had an ablation almost 2 yr ago I recently started spotting and me and my husband don't use protection?

I had an ablation almost 2 yr ago I recently started spotting and me and my husband don't use protection?

No tubal?: Endometrial ablation is very good for treating heavy periods. Its generally not done without also doing a tubal ligation. If you didn't have a tubal ligation, you should use protection as pregnancy is not recommended. Not all women stop their period all-together like you did. Some women still have lighter periods. Those women that do stop having periods can begin having them again. ...Read more

Had an ablation 2 years ago with no periods or spotting for two years is it common to be spotting now?

Could be: I would have your GYN MD check the nature of the bleeding to be sure that it is not a sign of endometrial cancer. Unfortunately, endometrial ablation does not prevent bleeding for 100% of the patients. ...Read more

I had an ablation done nine years ago and I started spotting. Will my periods come back?

Possible, unlikely: As you know, the ablation scars uterine tissue preventing bleeding. Sometimes these scars break down or fibroids are growing in the uterine wall behind them. If you have had no bleeding for 9 years, and now spotting, see your gynecologist. It may just be random, occasional spotting or something that will cause more bleeding. An ultrasound will probably be helpful to see what is going on. Good luck ...Read more

I had an ablation this past January and have had almost no bleeding. I am now having very light spotting, but no cramps or pain. Normal?

I had an ablation this past January and have had almost no bleeding. I am now having very light spotting, but no cramps or pain. Normal?

Yes, it can be.: Some women do develop recurrence of uterine decidual tissue, aka endometrium even after ablation. The bleeding should not be heavy, but should be cyclical, if it's truly decidual bleeding. So if you are spotting frequently and it's not timed like menses, have GYN check you. You should notify the doc who did your procedure that this is occurring. Also make sure that you aren't pregnant, use a HPT. ...Read more

First time?: Is this the first time you have had bleeding problems since the ablation or have you been doing this sort of thing for awhile? Clearly this is not normal and you need to get back to your gynecologist for followup and to discuss your next option. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Not normal: A Uterine ablation is usually done for heavy menstrual bleeding. Not all women are without periods after the ablation. Over half still have periods. Usually, they are lighter and more manageable. Spotting "all the time," however, isn't normal. Best wishes! ...Read more

I had a uterine ablation 10 years ago, I have recently started spotting dark brown blood and what looks like coffee grounds?

I assume u wanted no: Children because now your uterues will not be able to support a pregnancy , please call your gyn, as u can have some spotting at the time of your period because i assume your gyn explained to you that ablation may not get rid of all of the endometrial tissue and it can take 3-4 months for all the scarring of the endometrium to take place. ...Read more
