Tonsil stones: Your symptoms suggest tonsil stones, also called tonsilloliths or calculi. Or they may be concretions in the tonsillar crypts. Any throat sore throat symptoms? If so, you may use salt water gargles (1/2 tsp per 1 cup water) several time daily, or OTC sore throat lozenges. The white film that can form on the tongue is a similar mixture. Tongue brushing and "scraping" will freshen the breath and remove the problem in most cases. Gargling helps as well. Strep: It is possible to have a recurrence of strep. It is also possible you could have mononucleosis. Another alternative is you may just have a tonsillar stone in the fold of your tonsils that appear to be pus. If fever, throat swelling or worsening throat pain then get reevaluated. ...Read more

Unsure: A raised red spot in the back of your mouth could be one of many different things, depending on what caused it and how long it has been there. Just because it does not hurt does not mean it should be ignored. Your best bet is to have it checked and possibly removed and sent to a pathologist to be sure what it is. ...Read more
