When her: Internist refers her. The sx's may or may not be coming from the spot. If you like your doc stick with him, does she have a hx of a mood or stress disorder. It's unusual for this type of thing to linger for a month. Does she sleep well, having crying spells, losing or gaining weight? There may be more here. So any symptoms suggestive of pe should be checked out: pleuritic pain (pain at the "top" of the breath), shortness of breath, coughing up blood, dizziness, etc. Additionally, a painful lump in a leg may be a dvt: deep vein thrombosis - a clot that can travel upstream to the lungs where it becomes very risky. Need more info: Densities in the lung apices can have multiple causes. Infections, including tb, scarring, emphysema, and tumors can all cause these types of densities. Your age, smoking history, history of prior infections or other underlying diseases need to be considered by your physician.
