I had random spontaneous bleeding. What could it be from?

Need more: This question is pretty vague. More information would be pretty important here as "excessive vaginal bleeding" can be anything from an unusually-heavy period to heaving bleeding while pregnant (a true emergency). Please give us more so we can help you better. At a minimum, we need to know if you are pregnant or not and if this is just heavy menstrual bleeding or something else. Read more

Young and have the option to get a hysterectomy to get rid of hassles from bleeding. Thoughts?

How young?: An ablation is probably a better answer, can be done in the office, back to work in 24-48 hours. No major organs removed and low risk profile. If you have a hysterectomy you should see someone that does them vaginally or at least laparoscopic. Read more

I may have had a spontaneous miscarriage. Can't get into ob for another week is there anything I can do until then? Been bleeding & clotting for 3days

May need ER Care: If you are bleeding more than 2 pads per hour or experiencing abdominal pain/cramping, or excessive fatigue/weakness, you need to go to an emergency department to rule out an ectopic pregnancy and to examine whether you may need assistance passing your spontaneous miscarriage. Try discussing an earlier appointment first given your symptoms with your ob. Read more

Yesterday I had an spontaneous miscarriage and now I feel dizzy and I been bleeding a lot is it normal? Should I be worry and go to the hospital?

Dizzy and bleeding: Although bleeding is expected after a miscarriage, too much blood loss can be dangerous. If you are getting light headed/faint feeling then it would be best to see someone (urgent care or ER) as soon as possible to make sure you haven't had excessive volume/blood loss. Better to be safe than sorry in this case. Read more

Is spontanious bleeding from the ear dangerous, what could cause it? I've been taking wayfarin for a number of years. I have sle and anti lipid antibodies. I have a lot of headaches.

That: That is significant for you, as you are on warfarin. You must be seen immediately and evaluated. Please be sure that your pt/inr (bleeding times laboratories) have been checked. Ear bleeding can be caused by trauma (significant head injury), minor trauma (scratches), or infection. Please be checked and evaluated and be sure you let your doctor know about the headaches. If you have pain, significant bleeding, feel light-headed or confused, vomit, or have any weakness/numbness then you would need to be seen in the er. Read more

Right ear spontaneous bleed followed by increasingly painful headache and nausea?

Please get evaluated: Hi SWarner, Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly. It is very unusual for a person to spontaneous begin bleeding from one ear without any warning, inciting event, or symptoms leading into it. The headache and nausea may be symptoms associated with whatever is going on that caused the bleeding. Hope you can get treated soon. Read more

Light positive HCG test; then negative, w/irregular period with a random spontaneous bleed; but husband has vasectomy. This has happened twice, plz help?

Light positive HCG test; then negative, w/irregular period with a random spontaneous bleed; but husband has vasectomy. This has happened twice, plz help?

I recommend: Have your husband tested with a semen analysis (sperm count.) Even if this was done after his vasectomy before, check him again. Two false positives on hPT would not be impossible, but be highly unlikely. If - and I mean this 100% politely, but needs to be said - you are sexually active with any other men, the issue may lie there. Good wishes. Read more
