PCOS is a "diagnosis of exclusion", meaning things like Cushing's may need to be excluded for PCOS to be a valid diagnosis. I'm on spironolactone 50mg tabs. I forgot to take it yesterday. Took my BP was 166/95 p67.Retook 149/94 p66. Should I be concerned? I'm 34 yrs old.
Lowest dose of Spironolactone bill is 25 mg. My BP Avge 100/65 on it. When cutting it in half, BP no more than 130/80.Do you recommend using 12.5 mg?
Need more info: Hi. We need more information. Why were you prescribed Spironolactone instead of some other BP medicine? Did you have low blood potassium and high blood pressure? If so, and it's due to the adrenal steroid, Aldosterone, if adrenal surgery is not an option, Spironolactone (or preferably Eplerenone) is the best drug.
