Any truth to online claims that those over 35 can still grow 1-3 inches cause spinal chord vertebrates don't fuse?Would chiropractic cause that growth

No: That does not happen in real life, only in the online world. Spinal vertebrae that are not supposed to fuse need to stay free. Fusion would prevent movement, because there are movable joints between each of the unfused vertebrae. ...Read more

Might there be some risks when seeking a chiropractic care for spinal subluxations-misalignments?

Might there be some risks when seeking a chiropractic care for spinal subluxations-misalignments?

Depends: If you have severe associated stenosis (pinched nerves) with the spinal subluxations-misalignments, then i would avoid chiropractic manipulations. However, a good chiropractor would obtain this history from you and avoid manipulations and focus on other treatments instead. ...Read more

Can chiropractic manipulation correct vertebral malalignment in lumbar spinal stenosis?

Can chiropractic manipulation correct vertebral malalignment in lumbar spinal stenosis?

Unfortunately....no: As an osteopathic physician, whose practice includes "manipulative therapy, " it is my opinion that spinal stenosis is not correctable with any form of manipulation or physical medicine. This is unfortunately a surgical condition, and i would professionally recommend a consultation with a neurosurgeon, vs. An orthopedist. Your condition requires more expertise, and your end result will be better. ...Read more

When I ha d a spinal xray at a chiropractor I was told I have large bridging osteophytes what does that mean?

When I ha d a spinal xray at a chiropractor I was told I have large bridging osteophytes what does that mean?

Chiropractor did XR?: I'm surprised that a chiropractor was able to perform an X-ray. (Normally, you need a physician's order to do that, & another physician - Radiologist - to interpret the films for you). In any case, bridging osteophytes means that bony growths from one vertebra (from spondylitis) has extend to the next vertebra, joining them together. (Normally each vertebra is independent). TTYD or HT Prime. ...Read more

When can spinal fusion hardware be removed? I am having a ton of arthritic pain and it is 3 years out. I have tried PT Pain Meds Chiropractor!

Now try the surgeon.: You really need to try going back to the surgeon or, if that is not possible, see another. A ton of pain does not seem the normal course, so before you cause damage, have a spinal surgeon evaluate your post operative status. ...Read more

I have consistent lower back pain, chiropractor says I have 2 lower compressed spinal disks. Should I keep going to the doctor or if not, what do I do?

I have consistent lower back pain, chiropractor says I have 2 lower compressed spinal disks. Should I keep going to the doctor or if not, what do I do?

Normal wear & tear: Everyone gets disc degeneration as they get older. Imagine if you had sneakers that were 20yrs old. There probably wouldn't be much sole left. There is no way to reverse the wear and tear on the disc, but there is hope. Your best option will be exercise. Look into a beginners hatha yoga class for strength and stability. I would see a board certified pain specialist to have an evaluation. ...Read more

What are symptoms: Just because you have a small canal does not necessarily mean this is the cause of your back pain. Also, disc bulges are not symptomatic but normal findings on imaging studies. If your pain is arising from multiple disc levels, there is a lower success of spine surgery. Other factors that may also hinder a good result include smoking and obesity as well as being deconditioned or out of shape. ...Read more

2nd Opinion: You'll probably need to get clarity and confirmation from other providers (neurosurgeons and/or orthopedic spine surgeons) about the reasons why an 18 actually has multi-level disc disease and might not respond well to surgical intervention. ...Read more

How would one select a good chiropracticor?

How would one select a good chiropracticor?

Word of mouth: Consumers are the best judges. Ask your friends and co-workers and if one name seems to keep coming up then that is where i would go. There are so many to choose from the choice can be difficult. There are about 30 in my area and there are only about 5 that i would send my patients to. If they try and sell their services or sign a contract, then you need to find a different one. ...Read more
