Spider Veins On The Rib Cage Causes
Hello, I noticed today I have a line of spider veins (I assume to call them) on my left rib cage under my breast. Can you tell me causes?
Spider veins: Visible "spider" veins represent veins which have lost their valvular competence, and are dilated (widened) which makes the blood contained in them static and visible. The location described is unusual and not related to a cause for alarm, but is coincidental to straining or a former blow to the area resulting in obstructing the flow of the veins seen. ...Read more

I have a line of a couple inches across my left ribs of spider veins. They are faint and not very obvious. Just barely noticing them. Causes?
Straining or trauma: Spider veins are dilated capillaries in the skin. They're most common in the legs and are from the veins stretching out over time. On the chest they can be from straining (coughing, heavy lifting, e.g.) or some trauma to that area in the past. If they're very faint, they're probably of no medical concern. They can be treated with sclerotherapy or laser to improve the appearance. ...Read more

Hi, I had "spider veins" appear on my chest after what appeared to be taking vicodin ( was the last medication I took ) so wondering what it could be?
Veins around chest very visible until shoulder extending to arm. Looks like spider veins in chest. Doesn't hurt, concerned why they look so dramatic ?
Not concerning.: The prominence of veins through the skin is affected by many factors including levels of hydration and dehydration, body temperature as well as outside temperature, medications and even levels of stress. Fair skinned people tend to have more easily visible veins than darker individuals and hereditary plays a strong role also. In a healthy person, visible veins are usually not of any concern. ...Read more

Legs, arms, & chest, even( face sometimes) turn blue when feeling cold or jst standing up for a little.Ever since got lots of spider veins.Help? Thnx.
Circulation/Raynauds: Turning blue when exposed to cold is an extreme reaction to what the body normally does in response to the cold. When cold, the blood vessels in the extremities and superficial skin constrict to conserve heat. This occurs more drastically for some, and may even turn the skin blue or cause pain in some people. This can be associated with other disorders and it is important to have it evaluated. ...Read more
