When i was bit - had generalized, significant muscle ; joint pain, fever, weakness, marked extremity swelling and tissue that died rapidly ending with a significant sized ulcer. Can brown recluse spider venom cause avascular necrosis of the hip the bite was 5 inches above the knee the hip pain began 1 month after spider bite ?
Not likely!: There are no associated reports of this linkage. Both are not uncommon and coincidently may occur together. Avascular necrosis is a severe form of arthritis of the hip caused by disruption of the blood supply to the cartilage on top of the hip. Ultimately leading to hip replacement. Depends : On the type of spider, and ther are only 4 genera of spiders in the us that are dangerous to humans but generally, there may be 1 or 2 small puncture wounds in the center of a red, warm, swollen, initially painful (sometimes) but then sometimes itchy area.
