Can econazole cream for jock itch be used in combination with over-the-counter lotrimen jock itch spray or Benadryl (diphenhydramine) sprays to suppress itching?
Probably: Usually we don't want to use two different antifungal agents at the same time but there is probably no harm in doing so. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) spray is ok but there are other otc stuff such as tricalm, itch x that may be more effective. I would suggest that you space the application 30-minute or more apart and see your doctor if the problem persists. ...Read more
Is it ok to continue taking metformin even if I don't have polycystic ovaries anymore? Is it true it counters the effect of OTC pills (weight gain)
Unfortunately no: The best thing for hair growth is a proper diet, one that is rich in minerals and vitamins. I recommend to avoid 'fast food' and man-made foods, in favor of whole foods, particularly organic foods. Some recommend raw almonds for the trace amounts of arsenic in them which are known to THICKEN the hair, not cause it to grow faster. Avoiding stress and cigarette smoke may also help. ...Read more

Intertrigo: pale pink line. Used Econazole 7 days still there. Not fungal this time? Should I return to simple treatment? Panty line area.

Intertrigo: The intertrigo May or may not have been compounded by yeast infection, but it appears that the intertrigo has been complicated by inflammation unrelieved by antiyeast treatment. Avoid further inflammation by not wearing tight underwear and trousers. Keep the area clean and dry and avoid as much friction as possible. See a dermatologist if symptoms persist or worsen. ...Read more
I have had jock itch for over a week, I've been treating with econazole nitrate for 11 days and using miconazole nitrate powder. Is it ok to have sex or will I transfer this to my partner?
No risk, no worries: The fungi that cause jock itch are around all the time anyway, whether or not someone has obvious jock itch. Most people carry them, and therefore exposure to somone with active jock itch doesn't increase their risk. It's best to avoid sex in severe infections with inflammation, soreness, weeping fissures, etc -- but this is mostly for comfort, not partner protection. No worries. ...Read more
Only for fungus: The econazole only helps with fungal infections, like athlete's foot and ringworm. Instead try over the counter emollient lotions (aquaphor, eucerin, vaseline) on top of hydrocortisone cream OTC. This works best at bed time, then put cotton socks over your hands and feet. See a doc if this doesn't help or you think you could have an infection of the areas (called impetigo), call your doc. ...Read more
