Diet for diverticulitis?

Diet for diverticulitis?

After the inflammation resolves, we often recommend high-fiber diets, which may reduce the risk of recurrence. ...Read more

Jan feb and mar 3 bouts of diverticulitis. High fiber diet daily. Help! It's ruining my life ? When is surgery required??? Please advise

Persistent: Sounds like the diverticulitis has never fully healed. You may want to consider surgical therapy now to treat this once and for all. It's important to realize however, that one of the uncommon complications of surgery is the need for a temporary ostomy. While this risk is very low, it's not zero. See a colorectal specialist for a consultation. Hope this helps! ...Read more

How do you manage diet for IBS and diverticulitis. Allowable foods seem mutually exclusive. I get a lot of pain about once a month. Age 67?

Idea Link below: Actually this is not too rare. It will be a balancing act - but you can do it if you're patient and motivated. I'd start at the clean out of a nearly liquid, bland, soft diet until the diverticulitis clears some. Then move in the direction of easy to digest more solid fiber foods still low in fat, spice, salt. A bit of poultry and light fish, but mostly selected veggies. It will be trial and error ...Read more
