ENT/workup: The infected material can be drained and a tube placed by your ENT surgeon. Smaller, customized: New behind-the-ears hearing aids are popular and easy to use. For a child, a consideration is how likely the child is to damage or lose a hearing aid, and how well the child can put it on, take it off, and use the features. The behind-the-ear portion is small now, and comes in various colors. Some have several frequencies to adjust like an mp3 or stereo. Some have bluetooth to connect a cellphone. ...Read more
Did tympanoplasty in left ear in 2006 due to infection and hear loss..Rt ear drum has hole and infection.Conductive hearing loss.Time for hearing aid?
My friend 18yr is havin type a bilaterally (bilateral sensorineural hearing loss) right ear is 20db-100db.Left ear is 20db-80db.Any suggestion to cure?
Consider hearing aid: Your numbers and description aren't quite right. I'm guessing there was a type a tympanogram, meaning no fluid and no conductive hearing loss. I'm guessing the there was an srt of 20 db in each ear, and an understanding score of 100% in the right ear and 80% on the left. The left ear needs further evaluation, recheck in 6 months. If having trouble hearing aids would be the best treatment. ...Read more
Rx May help: Ambliopia is the process where the brain ignores the "camera" picture from one eye because it is less clear or causes double vision. It can sometimes be improved if the weaker eye is strengthened (glasses), the stronger eye is patched or if the eye is lined up better with surgery. If the process has gone on too long, the brain ignores the fix & surgery is simply cosmetic. ...Read more

Likely: I am assuming your blind left eye has become "lazy." if the eyeball itself looks normal, but is just misdirected, you probably are a good candidate for strabismus surgery. Pediatric ophthalmologists are specialists in adult strabismus. Have a visit with one of these! they helped me! ...Read more

See an ENT doctor: Ear pain and fullness can be due to tmd (temporo-mandibular disorder). Retraction of drum may indicate eustachian tube obstruction, but that requires a specialist's observation. Crackling on swallowing is normal. The presence of normal hearing strongly indicates no pathology in the external or middle ear. ...Read more
