Why do people/doctors say HPV can sometimes clear up on its own? Dont they mean HPV can lay dormant. Viruses never just go away! can't rid a virus.

Why do people/doctors say HPV can sometimes clear up on its own? Dont they mean HPV can lay dormant. Viruses never just go away! can't rid a virus.

HPV can go away: Hpv is a common virus that most of us are exposed to by virtue of being human beings who are sexually active. It is an issue when it causes genital warts and pre-cancerous changes of the cervix. It is possible for the virus to lay dormant in the areas where exposure occurred, but it can also be cleared. Your chances of clearing the virus are better if you do not smoke! ...Read more

Cancer, Not Likely: Lip cancer can relatively grow quickly. The risk of developing oral cancer increases over the age of 40. What you are describing is a common benign oral fibroma and they pose no harm. If concerned, see your dentist for investigation. ...Read more

Is everyone prone to cervical cancer even though she doesn't have any genital warts?

Is everyone prone to cervical cancer even though she doesn't have any genital warts?

Yes: I wouldn't use the word prone, but i would say all women are at risk because essentially everyone will be exposed to the hpv virus that can go on to cause cervical cancer. There are many types of hpv viruses. The ones that cause genital warts (type 6 and 11) do not cause cervical cancer. ...Read more

Is ionizing radiation damage permanent or does your body heal from it? ( I heard that the damage heals but when it doesn't heal ,you get cancer?)

Is ionizing radiation damage permanent or does your body heal from it? ( I heard that the damage heals but when it doesn't heal ,you get cancer?)

Predisposing factor: Body can repair some damage from ionizing radiation and it is also correct that radiation predisposes to cancer. Even non-ionizing radiation, e.g., UV light predisposes to cancer. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. ...Read more

Is it true that if cancer wont kill u , chemotherapy will eventually. Is it that bad for the body? I believe in natural cures but fda wont approve it

Absolutely not: Chemotherapy can have severe short and long-term sides effects and complications but rarely kills patients as untreated cancers do. Many tumors are very responsive to chemotherapy and the side effects are worth the benefits. ...Read more

Does the mouth naturally clean itself? Does it shed skin and rejuvenate completely? Do I need to worry about past sexual activity other than cold sore

Does the mouth naturally clean itself? Does it shed skin and rejuvenate completely? Do I need to worry about past sexual activity other than cold sore

See below: The mucosa does renew itself repeatedly and in that sense it is self cleaning. However, in addition to herpes, HPV is the other infection you need to be concerned about from oral sex. There is no urgency, but next time you see your doctor, discuss the details with her/him. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Cervical High Risk HPV caught early, but how do i know it hasn't spread through my vagina or elsewhere?

Cervical High Risk HPV caught early, but how do i know it hasn't spread through my vagina or elsewhere?

Germ behavior: There are hundreds of strains of HPV and each has carved out it's own favorite territory. Genital strains of HPV stay there. The wart strains like the outer tissue of the labia or penile shaft, while the strains associated with cervical cancer like that tissue. It does not enter your blood to go to other parts of the body. These are issues which you can discuss with your doc at your follow up visits ...Read more

Why does the body allow cancer to occur & spread? Doesn't it go against nature (self preservation)?

Why does the body allow cancer to occur & spread? Doesn't it go against nature (self preservation)?

Fallacious thinking: You have an inquiring mind and getting acquainted with the truth about biology, especially at the molecular and evolutionary levels, would be very worthwhile for you. The body has no overriding magic to keep it sound. The immune response to most cancers is negligible, as they are clones of mutated cells with a growth advantage. The destabilized genome allows cancers to mutate and evade defenses. ...Read more

Is cur-cumin truly helpful to cure HPV? Will it really reduce cancer risk & assist my immune system to fight the virus? Will HPV leave my body ever?

Adjunct only: HPV often goes away by itself, but a claim like this is (to put it too kindly) an "exaggeration". If you're interested in herbals and kitchen-condiments-as-cure-alls, get with an evidence-based holist in your community. Best wishes. ...Read more

Does it happen that people get rid of the herpes virus that makes cold sores ?

Does it happen that people get rid of the herpes virus that makes cold sores ?

Herpes: Herpes lives in a sensory nerve cell cluster in the area the nerve supplies. Primary infection occurs in young and persists for life in 15 to 50 percent. It "sleeps" there and may recur at any time--stress, trauma, immune system compromise. If herpes, it typically recurs in one single area--especially lips and may be aborted with early antivirals. But not all "cold sores" are herpes. ...Read more

If I have HPV that causes genital warts can my immune system ever surpress it so that it does not come back ?

If I have HPV that causes genital warts can my immune system ever surpress it so that it does not come back ?

MAYBE: These strains often clear eventually with or without treatment. However, they are from a family of viruses that tend to persist in your body for life, seen or unseen. The potential for a recurrence of visible lesions remains.Unfortunately, these strains are not killed off or suppressed by current anti-virals. Vaccines given prior to any sexual activity remains the best way to avoid the issue. ...Read more

Why cannot bed bugs transmit hiv? Hiv has been shown to live in them for 8 days. Did not replicate. But can't it still get into their salivary gland?

HIV: Research has shown that bedbugs may carry disease but it cannot spread to humans. In fact, more than 2 dozen pathogens were found inside their bodies including HIV without any evidence of transmissability. None of the pathogens found inside bedbugs can reproduce, multiply or survive for any significant length of time. ...Read more

Small 3/8" scab-lump on scalp won't heal. Been there over 6 months. Does not change in size or hurt. Just won't go away. Afraid its cancer?

Scalp lump: Most skin conditions like this should be evaluated by a physician. In sun exposed areas, tissue damage results in changes in the nature and texture of the skin, including benign things like seborrheic keratosis, but also skin cancers like basal and squamous cell tumors. A biopsy always takes guesswork out of the equation. ...Read more
