Sores On Feet That Won T Heal
Have a couple of popped blisters on my feet from new high heels. Put neosporin on them, but they hurt a lot! Anything I can do to expedite healing?
Scabs mean healing..: In most cases. There can be slight white/yellow color in the scab. In some cases of "sores" there may be an advantage in controlled debridement (freshening up the healing wound area) under the guidance of a specialist. If you are concerned about the wound, get it checked out. ...Read more
4yr old has 1 canker sore in the back, top part of mouth. How do I treat it? Will it heal on its own? Healing time?
Does abreva really work to heal cold sores? I feel like
It did the opposite and caused my cold sore to spread
Not effective: Docosanol (Abreva) slightly inhibits the virus in the lab, but not effective in treating oral herpes. So it's not quite quackery, but comes close. But it shouldn't make an outbreak worse, unless maybe you're allergic and it caused increased redness, itching, etc. Ask your doctor about a prescription for valacyclovir: 2 g twice, 12 hr apart as soon as an outbreak starts, is very effective. ...Read more
Does herpetic wit low hurt on hands without popping the blisters? Or does it burn only when you pop the blister? Need to know
It will hurt: It will hurt no matter what you do. I recommend BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene)--a food preservative anti-oxidant in a dose of 2,000 mg per day (split the dose throughout the day). Download a free e-book, "Wipe out Herpes with BHT." Also, apply DMSO topically, available from a health food store or animal supply (or on line). DMSO will dry up topical lesions rapidly, painlessly. ...Read more
Small 3/8" scab-lump on scalp won't heal. Been there over 6 months. Does not change in size or hurt. Just won't go away. Afraid its cancer?
Scalp lump: Most skin conditions like this should be evaluated by a physician. In sun exposed areas, tissue damage results in changes in the nature and texture of the skin, including benign things like seborrheic keratosis, but also skin cancers like basal and squamous cell tumors. A biopsy always takes guesswork out of the equation. ...Read more

Just found out I have genital herpes. Sores are sore to touch. How can I make the painful blisters heal faster
Here are some...: If being herpes at this stage, there would be no remedy to shorten its clinical course of 2-3 wks, but keeping the affected area as clean & dry as possible so to minimize possible superimposed infection will help. For its recurrence, take valacyclovir HCl as soon as feeling its coming will lessen symptoms and shorten its course. So, talk with doc timely. ...Read more
Will lotion infect a cut or irritate it? Many websites say do and dont use lotion on cuts. I don't believe it will infect it?
Which lotion?: Best to use water to wash off a cut. Bacitracin, neosporin, triple antibiotic are over-rated: they do NOT prevent or treat infections. In fact they often cause allergic reactions. Alcohol, peroxide, iodine only irritate cuts. Proven benefit from washing and keep lubricated. Wounds do well with vaseline or Aquaphor. ...Read more
