Maybe but maybe not: cultures, while better than the rapid tests (and cultures are the gold standard) are still not perfect. Your symptoms were compatible with strep and you got better on amoxicillin. Coincidence? Possibly. At this point, I think it's moot. ...Read more

Tonsillitis: Tge white patches on enlarges tonsils are called exudates which are trapped food inside tonsillar crypts. You should get a strep test at your doctor's office ir an urgent care to make sure you don't an antibiotic.
