Possibly virus: For significant sore throat with swollen tonsils / lymph nodes – see physician ; get a strep throat test/ culture. If you have strep throat, antibiotic therapy is imperative to prevent future complications. Consider tylenol (acetaminophen) or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications. Possibilities...: This could be related to a seasonal allergy, with bronchospasm as the etiology for the cough. If this is the case, prescription inhalers could be helpful so see your doctor. Pharyngitis+/- sinus: This isn't the cold or flu. This could be bacterial or viral pharyngitis. It could also be sinusitis (you said you had a headache). The neck nodes are anterior cervical chain lymphadenopathy..it goes along with this. Most infections of this type begin to resolve around this time.
