Sinus infection?: Cold symptoms for more than about 10-14 days may indicate a sinus infection or ear infection. The pain on one side could also be from an infected lymph node or tonsillar infection. If you have fever, see a doctor today. Otherwise call your doc and have them check you out.

Infections: The removal of tonsils does not end your risk of either strep throat or any of the other causes of throat infection. At best, it limits the intensity of your pain. The other tissues of the throat remain vulnerable to infection. Your ear may be infected or showing pressure as part of a combined infection of both areas.

Evaluate Neck: If you are not improving have your doctor order a cervical spine mri. Many times a herniated disc in the neck can cause arm pain especially if you have not improved with the medications and physical therapy. If it is a herniated disc you may need evaluation from a spine specialist to determine what other options might be needed (injections, surgery, etc) to help reduce pain.

Why would someone have sharp head pain on the side of the head accompanied by ear pain, nausea and a sore throat?

Why would someone have sharp head pain on the side of the head accompanied by ear pain, nausea and a sore throat?

Middle ear infection: I would suspect you have picked up a middle ear infection commonly due to a virus or bacteria; infection. The throat is frequently involved in the same process, causing pharyngitis (sore throat). Watchful waiting and sometimes antibiotics are useful. Antiinflaamatory therapy (motrin/alleve) can make the pain less severe. This infection can last 3-7 days.

Help I have a sore throat on the left side and left ear pain and fatigue?

Remedy: Hydrate well. Consider using a warm air vaporizer. Mix several teaspoons of honey into herbal tea with a squeeze of lemon juice. Or make tea with 2 tsp of marshmallow root bark per 1cup of hot water (steep in a covered pot for at least 5 minutes). Drink several times a day or as needed to relieve coughing. Saltwater gargles: mix 1 tsp salt in 8 oz warm water – gargle several times a day.

Strep test negative. 4 plus weeks of sore throat when swallowing on right side. Severe throat pain when sneezing. No congestion or ear pain.?

Nopostnasal drip?: This could cause 1 sided throat pain. If not, see an ENT Dr. And get scoped in the nose to see the back of the throat. They should be able to diagnose your problems. If you do have postnasal drip, try flonase or rhinocort nasal spray and see if this helps.

Call at the least: With the persistence of your symptoms, and only 1 day left of the meds, I would at least call the dr. Who originally examined you. They can review your chart and make the best decision as to when you should come back in for an second evaluation. Best wishes.

Upper airways: inflammation, can cause such symptoms, which can spread to the middle ear through the Eustachian tube, you want to see an ENT specialist for evaluation and ruling out any serious problem in that area first, especially if you are a smoker or around smokers, meanwhile, saline nasal washes and salt water gargles would help till seen, best wishes

Right side of my tongue backside I have inflammed lingual tonsil. Gum by the inflamed part is sore and yellow. No sore throat but slight Ear pain?

Infection: Sounds like a viral or bacterial infection. The only way to sort it out would be with a proper evaluation. Urgency of a doctors appointment will depend on duration and severity. How this helps!

See below: Many other viruses can give the same symptoms of flu. Alot depends on what your doc found on physical exam and what is prevalent in your community. If not improving in next 24-48 hours it would probably warrant a re-check.

Sore throat and ear pain what should I do?

See your PCP: Your ears, nose, sinus and throat are connected, so a problem with one can mean a problem for another. The proper diagnosis is the key to successful treatment. See your PCP for evaluation and diagnosis.

I have had sore throat and ear pain for a couple of days. Is their anything natural I can take???

I have had sore throat and ear pain for a couple of days. Is their anything natural I can take???

You have time: If this is really strep you have 9-10 days from the beginning of symptoms to start the antibiotics that will prevent rheumatic fever. If it is not really strep, antibiotics wouldn't help anyway. There is no "natural" treatment that removes the risk of heart/brain or kidney damage from strep.
