Sore Throat On Left Side When Swallowing
Sore throat on left side when swallowing which hurts in my ear aswell when I swallow. Ear feels blocked on left side too no white dots on tonsils?
Dr. Can check throat: New throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep). Throat lozenges and Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin can help lessen pain.
Sore throat left side when swallowing. Not painful. Neck/lymph node a bit tender as well. Don't think I have a fever but have been coughing/sneezing?
Very sore throat, mostly left side. Burn/sting when swallow. Bright red throat with red streaks, swollen glands, pain in left ear, low fever, stomachache?
Possible strep: This could be strep therefore should see doctor or urgent care.
You should be fine: The medications used today for solid organ transplantation is both potent and elegant. Having said this. It doesn't totally decimate your immune response. It just blunts it. Its critical you get the every 5 yer PneumoVax to immunize you for encapsulated organisms in particular. Another Prevnar (pneumococcal vaccine) 13 is particularly suited for immunocompromised patients. Your ear and throat should get better soon!See 1 more doctor answer

What are some home remedies for a sore throat? The left side of my throat feels like little sharp knives every time I swallow. It's been 3 days now
Sharp throat pain: First of all, please make a doctor's appointment to be sure you do not need antibiotics for a streptococcal tonsillitis infection. "Sharp knives" seems a very apt description of strep throat pain. If also with fever, swollen lymph nodes, headache, nausea, and rash, please be seen by a doctor ASAP for treatment. Warm salt water gargles and chloroseptic spray, tea with honey and lemon help to soothe

Please see a doctor: It would be prudent to have your throat and neck examined to determine what is causing your symptoms. Please go see a doctor at your earliest convenience.
Diagnosed with mono (may 29th). Sore throat is gone, left with sharp pain on left side when I swallow like something is stuck there. Is this normal?
Yes, it's possible: The symptom you're experiencing can be normal as you recuperate from mono. It usually goes away slowly over a week or so.
I got a sore throat 5 days ago, ithurts to swallow only on the left side. My right sides tonsil has white lines on it but I can't see my left tonsil.
Tonsillitis?: You may need some antibiotics to treat this. Perform a virtual consult for help

Sore throat (neck area) hurts to swallow plus cough. Neck glands bigger on left side but right side is sore. How is that possible?
Pharyngitis/tonsilli: When you have infection in the tonsils or pharynx it is not uncommon to have lymph nodes in the neck. These nodes do not have to be the same size or consistency on both sides.
I have a sore throat on only my left side. I also sometimes have difficulty swallowing to the point it can be difficult to breathe. Any thoughts?
Contact Dr. Or E.R.: A person with throat symptoms of difficulty swallowing and difficulty breathing must be seen by a doctor right away. There may be an abscess under the tonsils or behind them at the back of the throat. Sometimes, a person will quickly block off airflow (from sudden enlargement of the abscesses) and suffocate to death. If symptoms are very worrisome, one should call 911 for an ambulance.See 1 more doctor answer

Extreme pain and choking sensation on left side of throat. What should I do? Swallowing is painful and next to impossible. Feels like a classic sore throat but x100 and only on the left side of throat. It feels swollen and like someone is choking me with
Hello.: Hello. I can't diagnose your condition. But your description makes me wonder about a possible peritonsilar abcess. I know you are concerned by the cost of an emergency room. However, if this is a peritonsilar abcess it could be life threatening.
Acute Pharyngitis: Those are symptoms of acute pharyngitis/tonsilitis. The cause may be viral or bacterial. It is important to do a strep test as medication is required if positive.
Sore throat past 3 wks mostly left side. Pain comes & goes during day and radiates up to my ear when swallowing. Very painful.?
Sore throat: A sore throat for three weeks requires investigation which would include a throat inspection by a physician (to look for pharyngitis, tonsillitis) or a throat culture to check for strep (which is treated with antibiotics) and blood tests which include a cbc and differential cell count as well as a monotest (to detect infectious mononucleosis). See your physician who will order the appropriate tests
Left-side sore throat for > 1 yr. Pain varies from gone to moderate. Doesn't hurt to swallow. Seen 3 ents & gi. Nose / throat scoped 2x, upper GI scope & 2 mris 3 mos apart - no diagnosis. Any ideas?
Tonsils?: Do you still have your tonsils? While they must have looked "normal" during scope I wonder if removal may help. Do certain foods exacerbate? Unilateral problem leads me to believe that it is a local problem as oppossed to a systemic problem. Nerve issue may be at play? Do pain meds alleviate the symptoms when they occur?See 1 more doctor answer
Extreme pain in my throat (left side) whenever I swallow anything it feels as though I'm swallowing glass. I know it isn't a sore throat. It only hurts on one side and especially when I swallow liquids.
I: I cannot tell you the cause of your pain. If you look back in your throat, or have someone else do this for you, and there is significant swelling on the the left side of your throat/ left tonsil and it looks like it is dripping pus or contains pus, that could be problematic. If that were the case, you would need to be promptly evaluated to ensure that you did not have a peritonsillar abscess (a painful pus filled inflammation of the tonsil or the nearby tissues in the throat).See 1 more doctor answer
