I have a fever , sore throat , headache, earache, body aches and chills what could this be?

I have a fever , sore throat , headache, earache, body aches and chills what could this be?

Maybe strep, flu, etc.: Nose and throat symptoms can be from cold viruses, strep throat, allergies, etc... It can be difficult to tell what the cause is. If symptoms only last 1-2 days, it was likely allergies, irritation, or a mild cold. Doctors have rapid 5-minute tests for strep, so a primary care doctor can diagnose strep and start antibiotics "right away", which means within the first 3 days of strep symptoms. ...Read more

I have sudden onset fever .. Temp 101 and body aches, chills, but no cough or sore throat? Is this flu?

More info needed: While we can't diagnose this without more information, we can say that fever, body aches and chills are common symptoms of the flu. Since flu is prevalent now, we often begin flu treatment without a positive diagnosis- that is based on the symptoms and history. Antiviral treatment works best when started within 48 hours of symptom onset, so best to call the doctor as soon as flu is suspected. ...Read more
