Sore Throat For 3 Days No Fever
Sore throat 2-3 days, no fever, thick yellow phlegm spit out 10 days. Cleared but started again with sore throat and yellow phlegm after a few days?
There are a few possible causes. If you had no fever, the likelihood of Strep infection is less than a viral cause. It can sometimes take two to three weeks to clear an influenza infection. If you have fever or persistent symptoms, I would advise a Strep test at your PCP's office.
In the meantime, rest, drink warm fluids and monitor your temperature. ...Read more
I've had a mild sore throat and fever three days ago. Fever's gone but throat is getting worse it seems, and still slightly lethargic. Also slight burning when I urinate. Are they related?
Sore throat since 2-3 days no fever or no cold but little bit of blood in spit 2 times. Is this anything to worry about?
Dr. Can check throat: New throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep throat). A couple days of throat lozenges and tylenol (acetaminophen) can decrease throat pain. ...Read more

29/f. Sore throat for 3 days, no congestion, low grade fever, negative rapid strep test. Should I be concerned about mono? When should I get tested?
Not necessarily: While mono is one of many viral causes of soar throats, I would not be overly concerned about not testing. The luck among us get it in childhood when it acts like most other "bugs" & fades quickly. If so you are immune. Adults tend to suffer major symptoms & may be bedbound for a few weeks. The inflamed tonsils of mono are some of the nastiest I have ever seen. If your not that sick, just take it easy ...Read more

Sore throat: A throat swab should be taken for strept infection and other bacterial pathogens. If positive she will need antibiotics. If negative, it's probably viral and symptomatic treatment will suffice, which includes ant- inflammatory medications, analgesics and antipyretics ...Read more

Three days of low grade fever followed by sore throat and then some light coughing with continued low grade fever in the eve what's wrong with me also had chills and flushing during first three days of fever with no other cold symptons?
Fever for days, aches, headache, sore throat. Three white bumps on throat getting better. It is not flu season. What could it be and what to do?
? strep throat: Strep throat is a bacterial infection in the throat and the tonsils. The throat gets irritated and inflamed, causing a sudden, severe sore throat. However most sore throats are usually caused by a viral infection and not strep bacteria. The white spots on the back of a bright red throat and swollen tonsils and lymph nodes would be more concerning for strep throat. This can be tested quickly by MD ...Read more
I've been having fever for three days, sore throat, sore body and very upset stomach. Could I have the swine flu?
Viral illness: It sounds like a viral illness... Among the variants of flu out there, it's pretty hard to know which one you have without testing. Most of them have very similar symptoms. Most people who are young, healthy, and without any other chronic illnesses, recover from the flu without any problems. It'll take anywhere from 5-10 days. Fevers > 4 days warrant more concern. Hope you feel better soon! ...Read more

Viral?: If it is a primary herpetic stomatitis or flu, which can be very uncomfortable, Amoxicillin will be of no use (unless to treat a secondary bacterial infection). If viral, treat symptoms, it will abate, but stay hydrated! If it is indeed bacterial (bacterial infections tend to have higher fevers) then perhaps a culture and sensitivity test for a specific antibiotic would be wise. Good luck! ...Read more
