Sore Throat Cough Headache No Fever
I have been fighting swollen neck glands. Sore throat, drainage, coughing, headache, low fever to none, please advise?
The cough reflex is a protective mechanism that uses muscles in your throat and chest to expel mucous and saliva that may contain pathogens that would otherwise possibly be inhaled via aerosol or to expel pathogens infecting the throat and respiratory system. Cough benefits the host by reducing load and benefits the pathogen which may then spread via aerosol. ...Read more

Severe sore throat, cough, headache, no appetite, fever, feel hot, chest tightness from coughing. Doc said don't know, strep neg, gave antibiotic. Been 7 days!
I am experiencing sore throat. I have Fever, Cough, and Headache, hard swallowing. My tonsillis has been take out in 4 month. Do I need antibio?
Dr. Can check throat: New throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, one sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep). A couple days of throat lozenges and Tylenol (acetaminophen) can decrease pain. Read more
Why do I have a headache when I move my eyes? Yesterday I had a 102 fever but today it's back to normal but still have a cough and a sore throat...
Viral or strep?: It is quite possible that you have a viral upper respiratory infection given the fever, headache, pain with moving your eyes, sore throat and cough. You could also have a "strep" throat and a have rapid test at a physician's office t (although it is not 100% sensitive). These two are sometimes hard to differentiate. Consider seeing a physician, especially if you feel that you are getting worse. Read more
I have been sick for 2-3 weeks now with low grade fever, sore throat, cough, phlem, headache, etc but it comes and goes throughout the day.?
Just reached a cold country. Had a fever and headache, now fever is gone but having cough and bad sore throat, currently coughing up brown phlegm.
URI: You are in the midst of an upper respiratory infection. The productive cough indicates there is moderate phlegm inside your lungs. Drink lots of water to help thin it out. Drink hot tea/honey for the cough and consider some cilantro (usually I do pico de gallo) to help bring up mucous. See an MD soon to make sure it's in recovery. Http://www. Pdrhealth. Likely a virus: Likely a virus. Take rest, drink plenty fluids, & chicken noodle soup. You should be improving in 2-3 days & healed by 5-7 days. If worsening symptoms persist, esp with fever, then you must see clinician & may need antibiotics. Virus germs don't respond to antibiotics, only bacterial germs, & yours is most likely a virus. Hope that helps. Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Maybe strep, etc...: Nose and throat symptoms can be from cold viruses, strep throat, allergies, etc... It can be difficult to tell what the cause is. If symptoms only last 1-2 days, it was likely allergies, irritation, or a mild cold. Doctors have rapid 5-minute tests for strep, so a primary care doctor can diagnose strep and start antibiotics "right away", which means within the first 3 days of strep symptoms. Read more
I have green mucus drainage (one side only), with a sore throat, headaches, exhaustion and dry cough. No fever.
I have minor headaches, sore throat, a slight fever, and I cough up this yellow/white thick mucus with spots of blood once every morning.
Virus: Viral upper respiratory infections usually start in the throat, spread to the nose and in some cases down to the windpipe and bronchial tubes. If symptoms last longer than 10 days or with fever, shaking chills, sweats or worsening cough, antibiotics and a check up for pneumonia are advisable. Until then a mild cough syrup and gargling with warm salt water is soothing. Tylenol (acetaminophen) for mild fever helps. Read more
Teen had bad headache all day (thu) at school, then fever, vomited today (sat), now his chest hurts and neck hurts (no sore throat, cough, etc)?
Influenza?: Sounds a lot like the flu. If his neck is stiff, (ie has trouble touching his chin to his chest without pain), he needs to be seen in the er immediately. If he has a rash or has been exposed to ticks, he needs to be seen. If he has friends or family who have been sick & he has none of the above danger signs, you could try some tylenol (acetaminophen) or advil, clear liquids and wait. Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
