I have cough, colds, slight fever and sore throat. I was examined by the doctor and diagnosed of systemic viral infection? How come?
How can I tell if it's strep throat or a viral infection? Had a fever of 100.8° the first two days, sore throat and now a small cough as well.
Sore throat for 10 days, only hurts when swallowing. Days 4-6 was worse with sinus pain. Not strep or mono. Viral infection? How long could it last?
I was diagnosed with a viral infection and was only given pain medication. Does that sound right? I have a sore throat and white bumps in my throat. I went to the doctor and they completed a swab and said i did not have strep throat. They also took blood
Antibiotics : Antibiotics do nothing for viral infections. Rest, fluids, and time are your best strategy (maybe chicken soup as well!). Obviously, if you are not improving, or have significant worsening, such as high fever or productive cough, then get back in to your primary care doctor. Good luck! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Sores from kissing: hello ! Mono has an incubation period of 4-6 weeks so you kiss and get sick 1 and a half months later. This is unlikely to be MONO unless you kissed someone 6 weeks ago. You'd be sicker too. These are probably common herpes oral lesions. Dont kiss or have oral sex and they are VERY infectious for the next 10 days. thanks ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have had sore throat for 2 weeks and fd sayits probably viral there are no visible signs of infection although its quite hard to swallow what should?
Signs of a sexual viral or bacterial infection in my throat? havent done oral in 2 months but sore throat for a few weeks now? almost a month?:(
Maybe...: Most likely it is a usual virus that causes sore throats. I have to admit it makes me wonder why you think of an STD as a source first before the more likely usual cold virus. On the other hand, if you are highly sexually active you at a minimum need to be evaluated for the possibility of STD as a pharyngitis source. Perhaps ur dr will treat with antibiotics to "cover" for STD's as a source? ...Read more
