I have a sore throat, dry cough, fatigue, sometimes runny nose and body aches. Is this a cold, flu, or upper respiratory infection?
Can be: All of the above, what you are describing sounds line a viral disease, which can be a cold, flu or upper respiratory infection, with all the symptoms noted. Rest, fluids, pain killers and salt water gargles, if no improvement, see your doctor, good luck
Sore throat, cough and a runny nose. I always end up with bronchitis when I have these symptoms. Is there anything I can do to prevent it?
Early cold: If you start with early cold symptoms (which can be confusing with allergies), start nasal saline irrigations. Neilmed sinus rinse is a great product, though many others are commercially available. I would do them at least 3x a day for the next several days. Controlling underlying allergies can bring down inflammation as well. Now nasacort (triamcinolone) is otc, use 2 sprays each nostril daily. Best of luck.See 1 more doctor answer
Viral infection: If the symptoms just started a few days ago, it is a viral infection. If it has been more than a week, it needs to be checked out by a doctor.See 1 more doctor answer
Can you have strep throat symptoms for just one day, I awoke yesterday with fever_ sore throat, no cough or runny nose but woke up today and was fine?
Sore throats: Most likely you had a viral sore throat, which is the most common cause of a sore throat. Recommendation would be to check for strep if you have had a sore throat for 3-4 days that is not getting any better. Glad you are feeling better.
What can I do for a cold at home. Feeling cold and hot, sneezing, sore throat, dry cough and runny nose. Is this flu?

Dr. Can check throat: New throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep throat). A couple days of throat lozenges and Tylenol (acetaminophen) can help.
Lower part of my uvula is white, sore throat, coughing, hurts to swallow, runny nose/stopped up. Please advise, weekend & my Dr. Office is closed?
Hard to tell: But it is more likely a viral vs a strep infection. If you are miserable, get to an urgicare or consult one of the HealthTap doctor who provides consultation service - I do not belong to this group and you will have look one up for yourself.

I have cold symptoms of sore throat, mild cough with clear mucus, & runny nose. Also have upper chest pain and threw up mostly mucus last night??
Cold symptoms: Try NSAID like Aleve (naproxen) for pain and fever, decongestant with guaifenesin decongestant like mucinex and cough suppressant like dextromethorphan if needed. Hot shower, sleep with head elevated, vitamin c, hydration and soothing beverages helpful. If pain or fever and symptoms persist 10 days or green/yellow secretions and fever see doctor. Good luck.
How long?: If this has been present for less than a week, it is likely from a common cold. If it lasts longer or is getting worse, see your doctor.
Sore throat, cough, stuffy/runny nose, severe body aches, sneezing! All started 3 days ago. I'm now having moderate shortness of breath. Is this flu?
For 2 weeks had sore throat, coughing, runny nose. Cough is bad at night. Dr gave me hyrdrocodone. Took it and still coughing. Can it be bronchitis?
Yes: Although, the symptoms are 2 weeks old, it could still be a viral infection. If cough continues, I would recommend seeing a pulmonologist (chest doctor). You may very well have a viral bronchitis. Ideal approach is to culture the sputum and rule out a bacterial infection. If the Codeine is not helping, stop it.
Virus: Most often symptoms of sore throat, cough, runny nose and dizziness are caused by a respiratory virus. The body's immune system will usually fight off the infection in a few days to a week. To make yourself feel better in the mean time, drink plenty of water, rest, take over the counter cold medication such as tylenol cold and flu, mucinex, cough drops.
