Sore Swollen Testicle
My 11 yr old son has a sore, swollen scrotum. Both testicles seem fine, the center area between is swollen, skin around the area is itchy and burns.
?angioedema...: At age 11, the first that comes to my mind is spontaneous twisting of appendages inside scrotum. If the contents inside scrotum are normal by history, palpation, and optional ultrasound, i would consider if he has angioedema of scrotum. Epididymitis: See your doctor and get a testicular/rectal exam and urinalysis and urine culture. You might have epididymitis/orchitis (infection or inflammation of epididymis or testicle) and/or prostatitis (infection/inflammation of the prostate). Either may require treatment with antibiotics. I have a swollen tender purple lump node in the groin next to my testicle. It appeared a couple of days ago. No visible sore. Otherwise healthy.

This is an emergency & warrants an er visit 24/7 as there is risk of testicular death after 4 - 6 hours, and certainty after 12 hours.
