Yes: Recurrent aphthous ulcers are very common on the soft tissue just below the margin of the gum tissue as opposed to a "cold sore" which are recurrent herpetic lesions which respond to Acyclovir or Valtrex (valacyclovir). They also look like blisters before since they have fluid inside them. Aphthous ulcers can recur in the same spots but do not develop a blister.
