Sore On Eyelid (Overview)

A sore on the eyelid may be due to allergies or other irritants, but may also be a stye, or infection of one of the eyelash hair follicles. Small sores caused by herpes viruses on or around the eye are an emergency and need an eye doctor's attention.

Yes: Contact lenses can cause irritation of the conjunctiva, which is the pink skin on the inside of your eyelids.
