Interesting, No: "Is that normal": No. But, what is the mechanism? Not clear. Both sides, back of neck? Any other muscle involvement? If both sides and no other symptoms then maybe stress issues associated with drinking. Do you get migraine or tension headaches? If one side then maybe something to do with how you sleep. Not likely: Probably not. If your lymph nodes have been the same size for 10 years likely there is nothing wrong with them. I can't explain why you got shoulder and neck pain with drinking alcohol--I am stumped with that one! ...Read more

Vague indeed: Electrolyte imbalance (hang over), trauma not recalled, lactic acid build up for what ever reason (excessive standing, walking or even passing out with one leg pinned under the other) or spending too much time on a bar stool resulting in compression of the sciatic nerve. Get checked out: Although the scenario you describe could very well be something benign like mononucleosis or some other viral infection, you could be describing symptoms of malignant lymphoma or hodkins disease. You should have a medical check-up, as soon as possible, which should include a good exam (attention to your lymph nodes and spleen) and a some blood tests.

Painful nodes after drinking alcohol is not a common feature of lymphoma- it usually points to other things; but it has been described in Hodgkins Disease. Needs to be checked: You do have other medical problems and taking meds. The throat looking red and the black painless round dot naads to be checked and may need biopsy if indicated after examination
