What does it mean if you have a small lump in the groin area, it is also sore?

What does it mean if you have a small lump in the groin area, it is also sore?

Get it checked out: It is most likely a small lymphnode or a cyst, but bacterial infection with klebsiella ganulomatis is possible, often starts as small, painless nodules appearing after 10–40 days following contact with the bacteria. Later the nodules burst, creating open, fleshy, oozing, and infection continues to destroy the tissue until treated. Not to scare u, but should consult doc if worsens. Good luck. ...Read more

I am experiencing groin lump. Fairly large quite hard. Had it for a while now. Not sore and no other symptoms?

Be seen: You would definitely want to be seen and evaluated. It is not a "normal" complaint and needs to be evaluated to make sure it is not some type of pathological process such as a tumor or infection. Be seen even if it is not causing you pain, needs to be diagnosed. Even if it is an enlarged node, etiology need to be sought. ...Read more

30 year old male. Hard lump under my skin in the groin area. About 1 cm long. Can be moved slightly and slightly sore if I press it. No other lumps.

Cyst, gland or node: Sore hard lumps are worrisome, especially those in the groin area as they can represent swollen lymph nodes. Lumps that move are less likely to be cancer. Cysts & glands can also get clogged, even infected. Apply warm compresses to (possible) infections (ice packs to injuries). If not better, go see your Family Doc for evaluation. If worse before then, go to nearest urgent care. ...Read more

I found small movable groin lump sore to touch what could it be?

Lymph node: Would be one common possibility. These swell and become tender whenever there is inflammation or infection in the region. Hi there I have a lump that isn't sore or doesn't have a head right near my groin almost on the flap of my vagina. It's inside not on top of the skin?

See your OB/GYN: This could be a Bartholin's gland cyst, I would see you family doctor or OB/GYN to be assessed this may need to be surgically drained, or a small catheter placed in the mass to drain it. In the meantime you can place a warm wet washcloth on the area to encourage draining. If you have pain or fever please be seen sooner. ...Read more

I have a hard, round lump on my inner thigh close to groin it's sore to press on and I can pinch it with my two fingers bout size of a marble?

Groin lump: This could be a reactive lymph node that is due to an infection. One would be worried about any recent infections on the legs or even any sexually transmitted infections. If you have had any recent unprotected sex, may want to get tested. Other reasons to get seen is if you develop fevers, chills, night sweats, or if the lump gets bigger or doesn't go away after 2-4 weeks. ...Read more

Maybe a hernia: If you lay down, and the lump goes away, or you can push it and it goes away, its likely a hernia. Also, while laying down, keep your hand over the area of the lump and cough. If you feel the sensation something is being pushed out through a hole, its a hernia. See a general surgeon for a consult if you think it is a hernia. ...Read more

A red sore lump around the size of a finger nail has reappeared near my groin. Feels moist. Could it be herpes?

Probably not herpes: Herpes almost never shows up with a single red sore lump, certainly not this large. And genital herpes doesn't commonly occur in the groin. This sounds like an infected cyst or similar skin infection. ...Read more

I have genital itching, raw skin, sore, wart-like lump, lump in the groin? What could this be?

Groin lump: This could be associated with various problems. If it itches, burns and hurts it could be a herpes lesion. It could be a genital wart but this is not usually painful. Very commonly also and not related to sexual transmission is an inflamed boil which could be painful and swollen.
