Sore Lump On Breastbone While Breastfeeding Baby
I'm confused by symptoms I've had for a week (breastfeeding lack of sleep? Anxiety something serious): radiating chest/breastbone pain&sore glands
Sounds like you're: Dealing with a newborn and maybe have some physical sx's that an MD should evaluate. Also sounds like you're getting run down. Any help with baby duties? What happens when you have some down time? Or, is that out of the question? Do you have a partner? Can you express milk and have the partner administer and you rest? How's your nutrition? Too many? 's. See the MD first.
Breastfeeding is providing nutrition to an infant using breat milk either directly by infant latching and sucking on the nipple or by feeding via bottle with expressed breast milk (when baby has difficulty suckling). Breast milk is the best milk for any baby but ...Read more
I have a lump in right arm pit and havea bit of trouble breastfeeding on that side, plugged duct, and soreness. Could the lump be related?
Yes: A plugged duct can be the trigger for mastitis which is an infectious process. It can start slow but can progress to fever and general symptoms almost like the flu, in addition to breast soreness and redness. The armpit is full of lymph nodes which will swell if there is an infection. Mastitis requires antibiotic treatment. An exam can determine if that is developing and if the two are related.

I have a cold sore and am breastfeeding my 1 month old. Does the baby need direct contact with the sore to get infected? I worry about transmission.
Safe: The baby probably still has maternal antibodies present to protect against herpes infection. Be careful, but continue nursing.
For the last 26 years, since the birth of my last child, who I didn't breast feed, I have had a sticky dark green discharge from both breast. No lumps?

Use alternate: The answer really depends on what type of sore your have and where. Just to be on the safe side, consider nursing only on the unaffected breast. Pumping or manually expressing breast milk from the side of concern will help to prevent lactation issues. When healed, resuming feeds on both breasts should be fine.
Small white bump on my areola for a month (I'm breastfeeding) that only hurt the last few days. It broke and is really sore, what should I do?
Warm compresses: Will likely help the area drain and relieve the pain. If worsening, you should consult physician

Breast shields: Try using some breast shields and mom should try massaging her breasts with lanolin.
1wk post-partum, chose to breastfeed baby. What can I use to naturally relieve the soreness of breastfeeding in between feedings?
Lanolin: One natural remedy is lanolin ointment. It is produced from sheep skin and a very good protective barrier that helps sooth skin and is not harmful to your baby.

M breastfeeding mother but not exclusively only 3 4 times a day my baby is 2 month old. M feeling painful lump in my right corner breast. What to do?
Be examined: A breast lump is always worrisome. See your doctor. All the best.
Vague question: We generally avoid salycelates and prefer Acetaminophen as a medicine for comfort if throat lozenges or menthol gum is not adequate. Antihistamine and decongestant containing cough meds can reduce your milk volume, so simple mucolytics are preferred. Baby was exposed to the germ before you became symptomatic, so s/he will either get it or not based on their tolerance to the germ.See 1 more doctor answer

I'm 26 yrs 1st time mom (20 months baby)who still breastfeeding. But yesterday morning I found a small lump above my breast below the collar bone& hurt.
WOW: My wife stopped at 13 months and I thought wow. As with my wife and son your baby is not getting anything at this point from the breast feeding except comfort assuming a regular solid food diet so it is time to stop. That said assuming there is no history in your family of malignancy I would see my obgyn to have it checked and proceed from there.
