Sore Belly Button
An infection brewing: It seems that you have an infection there. Unfortunately, some have a very deep belly-button hole which can trap moisture/debris and can get infected. Early fungal infection can have itching to it, but bacterial infection typically causes more swelling. If an infected cyst is ruptured, it can stink. Since you are having pain, I suspect bacterial cause. Consult doc for eval. Good luck.
Yeast infection??: Yeast like to grow in warm moist areas like a "belly button" (umbilicus) also in the groin. Axilla, vagina etc. Make an appointment with your family physician. If it is a yeast infection it is easily treated. The way to avoid this problem is after taking a shower dry the aforementioned areas well. I see this problem a lot and also recommend using a hair dryer to make sure the akin is dry,

Sore belly button area. Feels like I did some crunches. Period currently 7 days late. Sore nipples. Constipated. Bloated. Gassy. Ectopic pregnancy or reg?
Possibly pregnant: With a period 7 days late pregnancy is a possibility. Do a pregnancy test on first voided urine on awakening in the AM. If negative repeat in 7 days. At the onset of pregnancy there is nothing specific regard symptoms that would differentiate an ectopic pregnancy from a normal intrauterine pregnancy.See 1 more doctor answer

Yeast or staph: If you have a piercing, this could be a bacterial infection like staph. Even without a piercing, yeast infections also start in that area because it is warm and moist. Clean it carefully with a q tip and some peroxide for a couple of days, and try putting some lotrimin (clotrimazole) anti-yeast cream in the area. If the redness spreads, you get fever or you have increased pain, see your doctor right away.
