Sleeping enough?: Forgetfulness is common amongst new moms. Typical reasons include sleeplessness [for example due to breast feeding or a baby that doesn't sleep through the night], stress from the additional responsibilities of motherhood, conflicts with your spouse [parenthood is a change for the dad and this can put stress on a relationship], or stress from balancing work/parenthood. Hope this answer helps. ...Read more

My vagina is itchy and stinky all the time i gave birth two weeks ago. Is this normal?

Yeast vs. BV: You may have either a yeast infection or a benign overgrowth of bacteria called bacterial vaginosis. If you have a white, thick discharge, it is likely a yeast infection and you can use an otc remedy. If not, see your doctor to get examined, diagnosed, and treated appropriately. ...Read more

During my second trimester, after having multi orgasmic sex, my face breaks out in dark splotches all over. What is this and how do I prevent it?

Well, don't have sex: But that's not really an answer, is it? Your facial flushing is a common side effect of capillary dilation that accompanies sex, embarrassment, certain kinds of food, and many other stimuli. There's really nothing to do about this as this is a normal physiologic response, more or less in certain individuals, and perhaps more with pregnancy. Forget the flushing and god bless multiple orgasms! ...Read more

Wound seroma: No, that is not normal. You probably have a wound seroma and you should be seen by your ob/gyn. The wound needs to be drained, flushed and then packed with wet gauze (or its equivalent) and the dressing needs to be changed twice daily for up to many weeks. It will heal from the inside out and once it heals completely the scar will look the same as if the wound had not opened. ...Read more

Possibly: Some emotional disorders can result in decreased concentration and "forgetfulness". Having a small child/infant and childbirth are definitely stressful....See your family doc and discuss this issue. Get your rest, eat healthy, and exercise regularly...Possibly seek some supportive counseling and monitoring.. ...Read more

Both get checked: Some people are sensitive to resident bacteria or fungal infections their partner may be harboring. Not the same as a sexually transmitted disease, intermittent superficial irritations sometimes indicates a yeast infection. A condition called balanitis can ensue causing intermittent itching and irritation. In uncircumcised men the yeast can reside inside the foreskin and be passed back an forth. ...Read more

After having tour rubes tie when is it OK to have sex . It's been a week and it's been 3 months since the birth of my child?

After having tour rubes tie when is it OK to have sex . It's been a week and it's been 3 months since the birth of my child?

The typical "safe": period after tubal ligation is after 1 month when your surgical sites have completed healed/ scarred and there is lowest chance that the ligation has failed. Any time sooner than that you can still have sex, just need to have a condom for your partner to make sure things don't get through. ...Read more

Yes: Bleeding for an entire month is cause for concern especially if you are using your contraceptive consistently and properly. It can be a symptom of an infection or abnormal cells on the cervix. You need to be seen ASAP for a full history, exam, and testing before you become severely anemic and get sicker. See your PCP, gynecologist, or an urgent care clinic today. Hope you are better soon. ...Read more

My baby is 9 months old and since birth her left eye waters all day. Will it resolve on its own? Is this something I should be worried about?

Lacrimal blockage: Your baby has a blockage at the lower end of the lacrimal "plumbing" that goes from the eye into the nose. As many as 2% of babies have this but many of those spontaneously open by age 6 months. After that the percentage drops. You should see a pediatric ophthalmologist to evaluate this and consider a short procedure called a probing which will open things up. ...Read more

Breastfeeding and no period for 5 monthss my son was born in september 2011, i had the regular bleeding the first 6 weeks but after that i had nothing. This is my third child and had periods with the other while breastfeeding. It has been almost 5 months

Many : Many women will not have a period while breastfeeding because the hormones that make milk (prolactin) will also suppress ovulation. This is nature's way of preventing women from having too many babies too close together who, in the old days, she might have had a hard time feeding. Once your baby starts to eat more food and nurse less often and your prolactin levels fall, your period and your fertility will return. ...Read more

Could be...: If you find that area to be painful there is a good chance it is a tiny hemorrhoid. Try sitz baths daily with ice/cool packs. If no better see you family doc for an exam. Enjoy your baby! ...Read more

I always have boils underneath my armpit and it leaves a lot of scarring this usually happens before my monthly periods.

Boils: colonization of the armpits with bacteria such as staphylococcus aureus can cause recurrent infections, specially if the armpits are shaved repeatedly, sometimes the staphylococcus can be resistant to methicillin( MRSA), making it harder to treat, decolonization of the armpits with chlorhexidine wash/soap and/or mupirocin may be necessary ...Read more
