What does "bpm/cm" fetal monitor printer for fhr mean?

Beats per minute/cm: Ob doctors or nurses and parents spend a lot of time assessing condition of the fetus (and mom) with fetal heart monitoring tracings to see if there is a regular and normal heart rate, typical variability, absence of decelerations. Portable handheld ECG monitor, where to get this?

Portable handheld ECG monitor, where to get this?

Don't do it!!!: You are going to drive yourself nuts monitoring your heart. If you have had a consultation with a cardiologist and a minimal work up that is negative, monitoring heart is only going to feed your anxiety and make everything worse. Please place your energy in things that can make you healthier (don't smoke, eat well, loose weight and exercise) If you are taking medications, be compliant. Good luck! ...Read more

Cardiologist appt next week after holter monitor showed 2200 extra heartbeats out of 105000. Showed PVC should I be concerned. Blood work excellent.

No: Don't be worried. Do get it checked. Pvcs per se are not dangerous. In the absence of underlying heart disease, they are benign but you need to be checked over. 2200 is more than average but not terrible. Some people have 50, 000 ! (50% of total beats). It's very likely that your asthma medicines are the culprit, or at least a contributing factor. ...Read more

Ultrasound showed a gestational sac of 9 wks. Fetal pole not clearly visualized corresponding to 8wks 3 days, unable to detect fetal heart motion. ?

Repeat: The difficulty visualizing the fetal pole and heart beat at 9 weeks could be a result of the quality of the ultrasound. A repeat ultrasound and/or serial quantitative HCGs would help to clarify what is going on. Hope this helps. ...Read more

If your baby is not growing well, or if you have an infection or problem that might be causing anemia, your doctor may look at the baby's mca with ultrasound. ...Read more
