Red spots: If the spots last a short time, this is ok. If they persist, then call your ophthalmologist.See 1 more doctor answer
Allergy?: You might have introduced an allergen into your right eye (e.g. after petting an animal then touching your right eye). If only the lids were involved, then a contact allergen is more likely the cause- in which case the symptoms may not appear until 24-72 hrs after the contact. Nail polish (before completely dried) is one of the more common causes.
I've developed red spots on outer corner of my eyes from tugging on them to do my eyeliner. I no longer tug on them, what can help to remove the redness?
Leave them alone.: Your description suggests that irritation from frequent pulling the area is the cause. If you stop touching the area, it will likely recover by itself in a week or two. But if problem persists, you should consult your doctor.
My bf woke up with these weird little red spots under both his eyes. They were a dark red and no bigger than the end of a ballpoint pen. What is this?
Can't see them over: The internet, but his doctor could if he visits him/her for an evaluation.
My 5 year old has very small red spots all around his eyes they almost look like freckles but red!! Want can this be?
Rash: If he has been coughing or rubbing his eyes vigorously then they may be small bruises called petechiae. If he is otherwise sick, he should see his doctor. All the best.
I have red spots under my eyes and they seem to be scaly and bright red when nothing is done to it. What could it be and what can I do to reduce it?
Depends exact place: Red spots around the eyes, could be due to a range of issues. If it is on the skin and not on the white part of eye, the conjunctiva, then think of dermatological issues. If it blanches or not when glass slide (or plastic cup) pushed down shows if it is petechiae (can be from straining, vomiting, viruses, fever, bugs, allergic dermatitis, chicken pox, etc) or vasculitis (more worrisome). My daughter has these tiny red spots around her eyes. They are not raised they do not itch and they do not hurt. It happened about 3 weeks ago but it?
Confirm with exam: Do the spots blanch with pressing the area? Did she have severe straining, coughing or vomiting, or sunburn 3 weeks ago? Spots may be petechiae- from bleeding of tiny blood vessels called capillaries. Petechiae do not blanch when pressed. My 5 year old has very small red spots all around his eyes they almost look like freckles but red!! Want can this be, should I take his to the emergency room?
Depends: Clear eye drops constricts the blood vessels in the eye then helps to get ride of the redness. Eye docs do not recommend it. Your blood vessel may get use it if the person uses frequently.
Not necessarily: Depending on the nature of the spots (are they blood spots or inflammation causing the blood vessels to be more apparent) it is less likely related to blood pressure. If the blood spots are in the retina in the back of the eye, however, there is a higher risk. See an eye doctor for a dilated examination, and have your blood pressure checked as well.See 1 more doctor answer
Few days to a week..: These are tiny bleeds. If you just have few small ones in the vicinity of the eyes will likely disappear in a few days to a week. I assume you have no other symptoms. If it worsens, consult your doc. Good luck.See 1 more doctor answer
My 9 month old has red spots on and around her eyelids. The eyes also look a bit puffy at times. What could this be?
Irration of glands: It sounds like she has either dacrocystitis or blepharitis- both caused by irriation and inflammations of glands in the eyelids or tear ducts. Certainly start by using warm compresses to clean any drainage and use baby shampoo to clean the lashes and eyelids. Check with your pediatrician if things don't improve.See 1 more doctor answer
Petechiae: It sounds like they may be something called petechiae. They are very small bruises, caused by a trauma such as hard coughing or vomiting. In this case they are commonly seen around the eyes. They usually go away after several days. If they appear elsewhere on the body, get bigger, or are associated with a significant illness, then you should see your doctor.See 1 more doctor answer
I also have these red spots around my eyes from vomiting. Is there anything I can do to make them go away quicker -- like a cream or ointment? Thx.
I have red dots around my eyes from vomiting. Not the tiny red spots that I've gotten before and go away in a week or so. These are darker red and raised, small. Will it go away?
Yep: Just blood. Will go away-guaranteed.Get a more detailed answer ›
