In general: Swelling or edema--which is the term used for excess fluid trapped in your body's tissues--is caused when your tiny blood capillaries leak fluid. It can result from injury, infection, remaining in one position too long, side effect of medications, etc. I would suspect a tooth or gum problem. If there is no fever/pain/redness, you can watch a couple more days. If persists/other symptoms seek eval.

Toothpain swelling: The body fights infection as best it can. The end of tooth pain does not mean the infection is gone but hiding. It will return worse than before. The infection will go north into the head or south into the heart and other organs. Seek professional help now.

Left swollen eye 4 days now, swelling spreading closer to cheek area. Feels like a bruise?

Preseptal cellulitis: Is an infectious condition affecting the tissue around the eye. If not properly treated it can spread around to the eye and other surrounding tissue, causing limitations in eye movement and pain. Treatment starts with oral antibiotics, but may require iv antibiotics. You should be seen right away so proper diagnosis and treatment can be started. Good luck!

What I assume is a large pimple has swollen the entire side of my face I tried to pop it 4 days but nothing came out now I can see my cheek in my line of vision and keep biting my cheek from swelling?

What I assume is a large pimple has swollen the entire side of my face I tried to pop it 4 days but nothing came out now I can see my cheek in my line of vision and keep biting my cheek from swelling?

Stop playing!: You likely have a facial cellulitis from spreading the initial follicular infection by attempting to "pop" your pimple. Seek immediate attention from your pcp or urgent care source to be placed on antibiotics today! Follow up in 7-10 days is a must to avoid more serious complications. There is always a potential need for an incision ; drainage procedure, which requires a face to face encounter!

The left cheek is swollen and so are my gums. I believe something I ate is in my gums. Is there anything I can do at home to get rid of the swelling?

The left cheek is swollen and so are my gums. I believe something I ate is in my gums. Is there anything I can do at home to get rid of the swelling?

Probably not: I have no clue how old you are (periodontal disease?), which tooth is involved, if it is actually food impaction, or really a dental abscess from a non-vital tooth. Your best bet is to have a local dentist evaluate you.

Infection?: If the swelling is due to an infection, then antibiotics would be recommended. If the source of the infection is a rotten tooth, then you also need to be treated by a dentist. All the best....

Get Treatment!!: Swelling is often a sign of infection. The location if your swelling would suggest a possible tooth abcess. It most likely won't go away without treatment. See a doctor or dentist asap for evaluation and treatment!

I: I am trying to visualize how large this is. I can't diagnose this. If the area is swollen, tender and warm you could have an infection, possibly even cellulitis. If this is the case, it is recommended that it be evaluated. If the swelling is continuing to spread you may need to be seen at the emergency room. If you develop cellulitis or if you already have it, that can be serious.
